I Told Them I'd Go...

My family bet I wouldn't keep my word tonight...how rude! Don't they know by now that I'm a girl who keeps her promises.

It all started this morning at 5:00am as I was leaving for work...

Hubby said he would be going to the gym today (he gave himself a gym membership for Father's Day after years of me bugging him to do it). I mentioned that if he and the kids waited until I got home from work that I'd go to the gym with them...well I guess they didn't believe me.

My family knows that when I come home from work I'm finished, done, ka-put. Even though getting up early is a killer, it's nothing compared to how I hit the ground running once I enter the building. It's non-stop, both physically and mentally.

After working 12+ hours today I returned home to find hubby and daughter standing there, smirking, just waiting to see if I was going to keep my word.

They had bet against it!

Ha Ha...I walked in the door and immediately said, "just give me a minute to go potty and change my clothes."

They need to learn to bet on a sure thing and me keeping my word is a sure thing!

(We spent an hour at the gym...and I even ran on the treadmill. I'm so tired now I can hardly stand it...but I did it.)

Do you have enough energy to go to the gym after a long day at work?

GOOD FOR YOU! Must have been tough, but you demonstrated not only strength of body, but strength of determination, too! Good lesson all around.

Oh I agree. I know I need to start exercising as soon as I get home, but something ALWAYS comes up!

Gosh! I'm so proud of you! Once my daycare kiddos leave, it's all I can do to fix dinner for my kids...and that doesn't always happen. Cereal CAN be a breakfast food.....

Way to keep your word Linda. Love how you just said, I am going and doing it and just you watch me.

I can't believe you ran on the treadmill. I do spurts and then walk. I am a walker.

Good for you and hope you ended up having a really good time.

Take care and do you have to go again? Is this a regular thing now?

I'm not adverse to keeping a promise just for spite!
Who won the bet?

Way to go Linda!! Oh boy, I don't know about that one. I'm more of a morning person. I could go to the gym early, but I'd whimp out for an evening work out. I'm glad you won the bet. Yay for you.

Cute story, I am impressed!
I either have to go in the a.m. or wait until I have a day off. I am spent (emotionally and physically) at the end of the day too.

I need to exercise in the morning or I don't have the energy to do it at all. I'm impressed you could do that after such a long day at work.
