My son has been a little depressed with girlfriend issues plus it's his birthday next Wednesday so I came up with the brilliant idea to take him on a trip to Colorado to see my Mom and Jim for a few days. Our daughter is working and already had said she wouldn't be able to join us (boo hoo!). So we called my parents and they were absolutely thrilled at the thought. Hubby and handsome son have never been to Colorado so I was excited that they would get to experience Colorado's beauty for themselves.
Yesterday, handsome son goes to work to talk to his boss about the schedule and guess what...mean mean boss told him he can't get the time off! I am so bummed you have no idea!
So what do you do...my parents are all excited now thinking that we're coming for a visit!?!
Hubby and I have decided to go anyways. We've booked our flight and we leave tomorrow. I'm gonna miss handsome son not going as planned but we'll be back for his birthday. In the meantime, I'm happy that hubby can see Colorado for himself and I'm looking forward to us 4 adults having a great time together.
If I'm away from the computer for a few days...now you know why...I'm soaking up some fun time with family!

I can't keep up with your adventures. You are such a sweet mother for sure.
I hope you have super fun in Colorado. Be safe and Take care.
You are better than me, I would have made arrangements to go another time if my daughter couldn't go. But then, she'll be 18 in 8 months, so maybe THEN I'll feel ok leaving without her!
I hope you have another great adventure with dear husband. I can't wait to hear all about the fun you've had when you get back.
I wish we were all meeting you there for some awesome Colorado weather!
i'm so happy you stopped by, linda;D i hope you and your hubby have a great trip!!!

Fantastic!!! You will have such a great time, and its always nice to go somewhere with someone who has never been there before to be able to see their experience first hand.
Enjoy, and I hope handsome son feels better soon - more fish in the sea and all that!!
Take care and travel safe.
Linda~ it's always so fun to see your comments on my blog, thank you!!
to answer your cupcake questions- yes there were a few guidlines to the swap. We all brought 2 dozen & they were supposed to be homemade/ not necessarily scratch but just not store bought. We didn't make any of our plans known to each other & I think it's really funny that we all made chocolate- I didn't expect that. One person forgot- so instead of 6 of us there were 5- no biggy. It really was fun.
Have a fun time visiting your parents! I've never been to Colorado, but I plan to go sometime for a vacation. Cant wait to hear all about it and see lots of pics when you get back.
good for you for going ahead with your plans...have a great time!
