Ribbon Project Reveal and a Giveaway

We had plans for Camping Club Weekend this past weekend and our son Brandon decided he wanted to join us. It's not often that Brandon is able to get away for 4 consecutive days with his work schedule so we were thrilled that he was able to go.

Hubby drove the RV and I drove with Brandon in his truck. Brandon wanted to take his truck, I'm sure, in case it got to boring for him and he could go home. I'm glad to say that he stuck it out from Thurs-Sun, only leaving a few hours before us on Sunday. Even though there was no one there his age, I think he really had a good time. He needed to get away too.

It was great to spend some mother-son time with Brandon while driving down to Newport Beach. It takes us about 3 hours to get there so it gave us time to talk. Brandon is by no means a big talker but we were able to have some meaningful conversation.

I also took along my ribbon project and was able to finish it on the drive. Do you remember these ribbon pieces...

Well they now look like this. Isn't it cute!?! I wanted to make a fall ribbon swag/garland like this one here, but mine turned out more Halloweenish. It's ok tho, I still love it.

I bought and cut up so much ribbon that I was able to make another one on the way home yesterday. So guess what, I think it's time for a fall GIVEAWAY!! The second ribbon swag that I made would look beautiful draped on the mirror in my living room but I'd rather share it with you! Just leave a comment from now until midnight Friday and you'll be entered in this giveaway. I'll pick the winner Saturday morning. It's that easy...and I know you'll love it too!

Sure, I will put into that giveaway...that is precious...I am still tring to figure out how you did it, did you just tie the ribbon around a string? That makes a precious garland and looks like a lot of work.

I love having time with my boys too...my oldest one is scheduled to come home today fro Iraq, so you can imagine how excited I am to see him.

How nice you got to spend some quality time with your son. Sounds like you had fun.

Gee, wish I would have known you were in Newport Beach. I'm only about 15 mins from there and could have stopped by to say hi.

I'm glad you had fun meeting a blog friend in AZ. It is fun to put a face to the blog.

I've been blessed enough to meet 3 wonderful ladies now. I hope to meet many more.

I love your ribbon garland! Great job. I would love to win it.

Hugs,
Joanne

Oh my gosh! The garland is adorable! And I've decided you're the "Giveaway Queen"!

I'm so glad you got to have some "talk" time with your son...seems like they (boys) just don't want to open up to us as much as our daughters. Sometimes Tori tells me things I really don't "need" to know.....but I'm glad she talks to me!

Our grown son went on vacation to Branson with my husband and me a couple of months ago. We had a great time. He and his dad fished, he golfed, we played chicken foot, talked, shopped, ate.... and just messed around. It's nice when they want to be around us and spend time with us. I love every minute my grown kids spend with us.
I'm so happy you all had a good trip and I'm so happy you're having a drawing. I love your ribbon project and think it would look lovely in my home. ;)

Have a great week!
Valerie

Oh, how I wish we could use our camper, but with a son in college and well, both my son's don't really want to go on vac. with us much anymore...so camping just doesn't seem the same. My hubby and I went a while back by ourselves and I cried the whole week. Maybe someday I wll get use to that empty nest feeling, but I am not liking it so far. Please enter me in your giveaway, I love those ribbon swags and would love to have one. Blessings, Nancy

What a new idea for a garland!

I scrolled through to see if I could find the link to see how to make them as I think it would be an easy enough project for my girls to make and we could do it seasonally, but I couldn't find one. Could you send me the link? :-)

In the meantime, I'd love to enter your giveaway!

Blessings,
Tammy ~@~
