Lack of Sleep

We've been on the road since Monday and we've already got some serious sleeping issues going on...or should I say "lack of sleep" issues.

My husband snores so loud he could wake up the neighbors, yet Brandon and I are sharing very close quarters with him in hotel rooms while we're on vacation.

Brandon is frustrated, I am frustrated, and we're both TIRED!

It was the middle of the night last night when Brandon loudly shouted "DAD, STOP SNORING!!" Finally, super early this morning Brandon just got up, got dressed, and headed downstairs. He said he had no idea his Dad snored so bad. Believe me, I warned him.

I can already tell this is going to be a lovely trip. I seriously think I should have gotten a prescription for some sleeping pills before we left the house. Brandon bought himself a glass of wine last night. We both need something.

Better yet, maybe Howard should just sleep in the car!

I deal with this too, which is why I'm not so sad when my hubby has to leave town. I have to have earplugs and a homeopathic sleeping pill when he's sleeping with me (it's easier to wake up from). And even then, I sometimes end up in the other room. In my next house, I would like to have two master bedrooms! Good luck!

I think LOTS of men deal with us.. or should I say... women have to DEAL with this!!!

When we were up on Oakland a few weeks back we were in a hotel room and our middle son and his roommate shared the room with us... they both about died... Blake said, "Mom, do you have to deal with this EVERY night?" HAHAH!

Good luck!

Oh my, I deal with this every night with Glenn. I either put my iPod headphones on or go sleep in another room. It's really bad when I can hear him through the headphones and the volume is all the way turned up!!!

I'm feeling bad for my hubby because he doesn't snore, but whenever my allergies act up, I do. Poor guy!

What happened to your RV? I didn't realize you'd be in a hotel. But I guess sound travels in that too..
I would say go get some Tylenol pm & both you & Brandon take it & buy some ear plugs too...
Or better yet, have Howard get another room for you & Brandon...
Good luck!

too funny!i know what you are going through! matt snores too...but the funny thing is, most of the time i dont hear him, if i can fall asleep BEFORE his snoring starts!!!! we went on a group vacation a few year back and were sharing a bedroom with his sister and her husband in the condo...and they complained the ENTIRE week about matt and his snoring (some pillows were even flying through the air towards him in the middle of the night!)...and i didnt hear it at all-that week!:-) maybe get some ear plugs? to go along with the wine!?!?!?

I know what that is like! I put ear plugs in my ears every night and it really helps!

I travel with earplugs...for 2 reasons.
#1 Kirk snores REALLY LOUD when he is tired
#2 So, I don't wake myself up snoring ;O)
Hope you are having a safe trip.

This is so funny, as I am reading about your hubby snoring, mine is asleep on the couch and is snoring so loud I can hear him in my office! :(
Thank the Lord above I am a sound sleeper, sometimes I count time in between the long snores and before I know I'm asleep, kinda like counting sheep for me!

Bless your hearts, I really don't have any advice for you other than maybe wear some earplugs, drug yourself or sleep in a different country, only kidding...maybe! WINK< WINK!

Thank you so much for my darling gifts you sent, I am going to do a post on it soon, I have been so bombarded since the wedding I can't seem to come up for air, the towel is just so cute and the bone magnet is just darling too, thanks for sending such cute doggie things I love them!

When will you two be coming up for a visit? I would love to see you!
Take care and hope to hear from you sometime soon.
XO,
Donna Lynn

I can't say a whole lot about my husband's fairly quiet snoring and our bulldog's semi loud snoring when I'm the loudest snoring person in our house. My husband is very tolerant, thank goodness. I don't think even my loud snoring can compete with my dad's and my father-in-laws snores. They could actually wake the dead! It's a good thing we all love one another, don't you think?

That is soooo funny cause my hubby and I are usually in different rooms. I absolutely can't sleep with his ROARING. If I go to sleep first I sleep fine until the first time I wake up and he is roaring I can't sleep again....argh

Oh no Linda! What about those Breath Right Strips?

Your poor son.

Oh I am so sorry.
I can't relate to this at all. Big Daddy snores a very soft rhythmic snore that actually helps me sleep. The other morning he looked a little tired and I asked if he slept ok. He hadn't - I kept him up all night with MY snoring. So sad.

Do you remember my post a while back when I was having some crazy snoring issues....I was the one with the snoring problem?!!

I had gone to San Antonio with my daughter and she was throwing pillows at me during the night and yelling my name. She asked me "How does Dad sleep with you?" Then one night a couple of weeks ago my husband had to leave our bed and go sleep in the other room. :(
My mom bought something (originally for my dad) called "snore blaster" that you spray in your throat before bedtime and really it seems to work. She got it from one of our local pharmacies.

As I'm typing this he's in the bedroom and I can hear him snoring from the room I'm in. :)

Y'all should totally get some ear plugs though. I took some with me on my trip to NYC for me and my sister and it blocked out all noise. I'll never again travel w/out them. Too bad Kristen didn't have them on our trip. I had switched bags & they weren't with me.

So...I feel sorry for you and your son, but tell your hubby that he has a friend out there...God love him. :)

My dad snored so loud when I was living at home, I could hear him from the other room. I thought that was how all dads were. Then I married Jim and he does not make a sound when he sleeps. The first year we were married, I would wake him up just to make sure he was alive.

But back to my dad. It turns out his snoring was caused by sleep apnea and it is very dangerous.

He now sleeps with this little machine hooked up to his face and he is very quiet. More importantly, he is alive. m

Linda, My hubby snores too. He stops when I pat his arm, but soon it starts up again. It's pretty funny thinking about it now, but it isn't when you can't sleep.

I hope the rest of the trip gets better. Earplugs anyone?

That has to be a real bummer. I am fortunate that my husband doesn't snore. Hallelujah! Get some sleep(ing pills?)!
God bless,
Brenda :)
