SPT - 100 Things About Me

Lelly's challenge this month: we will consult our 100 lists. it's quite simple, really. on the 7th of the month post an spt about item #7 on your list. on the 14th of the month, post an spt about item #14. and so on. and so on.

#7 on my 100 Things About Me list says:

"I've been married over half my life...to the same man"

Yep, it's true...and you know, I'm really proud of my #7! It's so easy to go in and out of marriage these days that people don't take it seriously. But we did...and we still do.

My husband and I have tried our best to be good examples for our two children, in all areas of our lives, but especially when it comes to marriage vows. I know it makes my kids proud to have both of their parents active in their daily lives (even at 20 and 23 years of age) and proud that we all have a history together. Marriage hasn't always been easy or fun, but one thing is true, we've always stuck together...for better or for worse.

If you'd like to see more of my 100 Things About Me list, I have a link on my sidebar.

(I'll try and get hubby to take a self-portrait with me today and add it in...but we'll see how that goes. He's not a camera loving guy.)

Love this SPT.
I haven't done them in over a month. I need to jump back on that band wagon.

Just snag a pic. Sneak up on him with camera ready.

Hahahahhahahaha

Congratulations!!! That is great and marriage is hard work, more like a full time job...it is a committment, not a feeling...one of the things that I have learned over the years and if you are committed, the feelings will come and go, but the love grows deeper and deeper and there is a bond there that will not separate...I will have to go and read your 100 list.

that blows my mind. as an un-married i can't imagine being with someone for half of my existence. it's such a sweet dream! as each year of singlehood passes by i have to give up hope of reaching another big anniversary. 60, 59, 58...and so on and so forth.

congratulations!

Congrats to you on a long, happy marriage. I hope that one day we will have kids that are proud of their parents and can look up to us as well. Luckily we both have parents who are still married and great examples to us as well but it is rare.

what a shining example you are to all of us who are "just starting out" at this thing called marriage! warren and i have our 8th anniversary this month, but that's nothin' on you two! it sure takes a special blend of love, determination, and sacrifice to make a marriage last forever. congratulations!

Congratulations on many years of marriage! It certainly can be hard! Your kids are very lucky! I grew up in a divorced home (when I was 6 months old) so I don't know what it would be like any other way! I really can't imagine it!

You should be proud of that accomplishment. Now if only you could accomplish taking a picture of him. Tell him your fans are waiting!

WHOOHOO - congrats to you! With all the worldly views on the family and its slow destruction - it is so refreshing to read your post and actually hear the joy and enthusiasm in your writing of your marriage!

I admire this so much!! First that you have stayed together (marriage can be so very difficult but so very worth it!!) and second that you are active in your children's lives - these are great examples for everyone!!!

That is so awesome! I think it's so great when people take those vows seriously. Marriage is a choice and we have to recommit ourselves to it all the time. It's not the easiest thing, but so worth it!
