Our Christmas tree isn't up and decorated yet however I did manage to put up my little kitchen themed tree today. It's semi-finished and lookin' pretty good! I'll post pictures soon.
We've had an artificial tree for years now. My husband used to work so many hours that it was easier for me to just get out the artificial tree and decorate it at my leisure without having to wait for his day off (which during the Christmas season there weren't many of since he was in retail!) We've toyed with the idea of getting a real tree many times but always end up using our artificial one.
I love Christmas trees and have a variety of small ones that I've collected or have made. Some years I decorate more than others, but my goal is to put a tree in every room!
When Courtney was in 4th grade we bought a tree for her bedroom. Each year after Christmas we'd buy a few ornaments that were on sale and before we knew it, her tree was full. We'd drag it out the day after Thanksgiving and get it all decorated. Courtney still has her tree and all of her precious ornaments. What wonderful memories were made!

Yes, we have two artificial trees up, one really big one and one small one. I miss the smell of a real Christmas tree, but I don't miss the falling needles...what a mess!

We have one tree up and it's artificial. We had a real one until we discovered that our daughters cough was related to an allergy to pine! We put one in our living room and a small one in our family room downstairs.
Tomorrow is the day. We are behind for some reason decorating this year. This wonderful season has snuck up on me, and fast! I love the idea of having a tree in your daughters room, and adding ornaments each year. What a beautiful memory.

I'm so happy to answer this question! My pet peeve is Christmas decorations up before Thanksgiving. I know some folks don't have time to decorate otherwise but I really feel it takes away from the specialness of Thanksgiving to be focused on Christmas that early. I actually saw more than a few homes on my daily commute decorated for Christmas complete with tree in window before Thanksgiving. I love Christmas as much anyone but for me it's just too early.
My tree isn't up yet, I had planned to do it today and hopefully I'll feel up to dragging it down from the attic. I have put up as many as 7 trees in our home. A big one in the living room, another big one in the dining room, three small lighted alpines in the dining room in front of the faux fireplace, a patriotic tree for my Presidential/Military Rememberance Hallway, and a mini decorated tree for my kitchen island. This year I am skipping the big tree in the dining room because I now have a sideboard in it's place & I'm unwilling to pack up my sewing corner in order to have a place for a big tree. And I'm not using my handblown German glass ornaments this year because we have a new kitten and we're afraid he'll climb the tree and break them. This year I've given myself permission to keep things simple. Sorry for leaving you a book of comments!
P.S. Artifical for several reasons, cost, ease, and years ago my Mother lived with us and was oxygen and we just felt an artifical tree was safer somehow.
Hey, that's funny, I talked all about my tree today. Our tree is up and decorated and it is a real tree. I have a feather tree in my entry way and a couple of mini trees in the kitchen. I love Christmas!

We have an artificial tree that we put up but it is slow going this year. My house would have been completely decorated earlier this week but we were waiting for daughter to fly in from Seattle who wanted to help decorate. I am hoping today so that I can start to post pictures.
We did put small little table top trees in the girls bedrooms when they were small and I do have one upstairs for our granddaughter at the moment. I wish I had the room for one in the kitchen, I have seen so many of you gals decorate ones for there and thought they were so cute.
Not up yet. Horrible.
We do real trees. It's expensive though. I should go fake. I have 2 trees and a ton of little fake ones.
Our tree is up- I actually got it done the day after Thanksgiving. WOO HOO! It's fake but it's really big and we love it! I only wish it were pre-lit. I HATE doing the lights. I only do one tree although I do have a little one that just has lights on it. Does that count? Have a great weekend!
We have one tree up and it is artifical and it is up an decorated - I know I live in the NW and it is almost considered a sin but I love my artifical tree. I got so tired of hiking out into the mud and rain and trying to find the perfect tree each year. And then I would have to put the lights on it because my husband thinks one strand of lights should be enough for a tree!
I also put a small tree up in each of the kids rooms (3 rooms) but those aren't done yet and the family room tree isn't up - not sure the family room one is going to happen this year
The rest of the house is decorated though!
we have four trees in and two out... all artificial and prelit except for the 10 ft. one that goes in the living room.
i think we are only going to put up 2 of the inside ones this year. both are upstairs and are ready to be decorated... maybe tonight or tomorrow???

We're planning to put our artificial tree up this weekend. Several years ago, we bought a Disney Princess tree to put in our daughter's room. She loves it!
We'll probably be getting our live tree this weekend.
My daughter has a little table top one in her bedroom.
Our neighbors put a cute skinny
5 ft. one out by the trash last year. I snagged it up in a heart beat. It's really cute, the trunk looks like real bark and it has a sturdy flat metal stand. Kinda rustic.

First year ever to get an artificial tree, my hubby is not feeling well and a huge real tree is just not in our picture this year, however they make some real beauties now, I will get one fully lit, that will be a blessing for me.I will miss the smell of a real tree but its a small price to pay.Lots of health problems in our lives right now I haven't even put up one decoration... but this weekend I will give it a go.Wish me luck!

I only have one tree and it is a pre-lit fake. I love your idea of a kitchen tree and I would love little trees in the kidlet's rooms, but seriously if I can't get one decorated how am I going to do 5?!?!

In the past I've done 3 trees. This year with the wedding, one is enough.
I bought our first artificial tree last year. This is the earliest we've had a tree up...the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I love our tree because it fit's right where I want it. It's tall and narrow. We do have a smaller pink one and a smaller silver one that my daughter and I decorate, but this year we didn't put them out.
I only have one artificial tree but it's not up yet. It's hard with the kids not at home to help. I plan on working on it this week.

One day in my 'real life' I would love to collect Christmas trees too!!! We always spend Christmas with my parents and don't own a tree right now. (we had one in Australia but couldn't bring it with us and haven't replaced it yet).
Yup....medium size tree is up (artificial)....little Sarah (2) has been dancing around if for about 3 days now......she can't wait for Santa to get here!!

Yes, all of ours are up. We have 8 full size trees this year. They are wonderful. Each tree has a different theme. I will post one of these days. m
We have one tree - the real deal. Our cats knocked over our artificial tree and broke it in half! They leave real ones alone.
We have 2 full sized artificials and 2 small ones. And mine are up but the rest of the house isn't decorated...and may not get done this year. I love your blog header....it made me smile!
