* Worked - 2 days
* Took down the Christmas tree
* Been sick - 4 days
* Bought more storage containers and packed away all of our Christmas decorations
* Cleaned house
* Sent daughter, aka little sis, back to college in AZ
* Visited with handsome son who lives 3 hours away
* Done laundry
* Spent time with friends
* Started writing my Christmas thank you notes
* Bought 4 birthday presents
* Bathed and groomed Jake
* Ordered my word of the year necklace
* Ironed
* Blogged less
* Cooked more
* Learned a new card game (I'm normally not a game player, especially cards)
* Took Jake to the vet and ordered his "wheels"
* Attended the first Camping Club Weekend of the new year
And with the exception of being sick, I've had a good time doing it! One of my goals for the new year was to spend less time on the computer in order to get more accomplished. I love blogging but last year I let it get out of hand. I needed to tone it down a bit and get my priorities back in order...I let alot of things slide last year.
This year, so far so good. I feel more in control.

I am so glad to "see" you!
I have missed you so much!
So, tell me about Jake's wheels?
I really have missed you
Hi Linda,
I know what you mean about blogging taking over your life. It really can get out of control, if you're not careful, so I'm working on it, too!
Hope 2009 continues to go well for you! Happy Monday!
Its so easy to let things get out of control. I know that too well! Looks like youve gotten off to a great start!
Sounds like you've had a very productive January so far! Wish mine was half as productive as yours, so far the decorations are awaiting their trip up to the attic! And as for blogging and computer time, well that's been nonexistant for me this past week due to inventory at work and a horrible toothache. But you're absolutely correct in placing limits on your time spent online otherwise you'll look up and the entire day has gone by and you're still sitting in your pj's *smiles* Have a wonderfully blessed day!
That's great, Linda. Even tho' we miss seeing you around, it's so important to get ahold of priorities, 'cause blogging can literally 'take over'.
We'll just see ya when we see ya!
God bless,
Brenda
Sounds like you have had a fun and productive year so far. Can't wait to Jake's new wheels. How is he doing?
My but you've been a busy one, haven't you! Amazing what we can accomplish! Miss seeing your posts, but know you're busy and will get here when you can! Take care!
It sounds like you're off to a great year already. Except to sick part.
I can't wait to see Jake in his wheels!
Have a an awesomely productive week!
So glad you feel that control again. It is always so hard to feel overwhelmed. Glad you are doing so well. :)
WOW, you are one busy woman! What game did you learn???
Sounds like you have been busy! Good for you --sticking to your goals and feeling better! You need to blog about Jake's wheels!
I'm so glad you're going to do the swap with us. We're going to have a good time with the Love and Friendship Valentine's theme!
Hi Linda,
Hurray for jake and his new wheels that are coming!!! Will you show us his Wheels when they come??
I agree, I need to spend less time on the computer...something I am trying to work on. Plus, WHEN I do have a job, that will cut my comuter time down.
Take care..
Deb
WOW you have been busy. I totally understand having to cut back on blogging!!! I have a hard time keeping up with everyone and then feel bad that I dont post very often, I think people will get annoyed or sick of me.
Take care my dear friend and I look forward to reading anything you do post.
Also dont forget if you are ever catching a plane from LAX and end up in Australia, you have to contact me!!!!!!
Most friends we have outside blogland we don't see everyday or every other day but when we get together we catch right up. I feel all caught up. What I know is you have been a busy lady.
Hi Linda! Glad you are feeling better & I hope Jake is doing well. I like your post about having a new word to live by this year. That is an excellent idea. Like a little motto or mantra to repeat over in your head when you need a little extra strength or courage. :) Saw that you stopped by today..you can definitely do a little project like that chair. Those are my kind of projects! I am not one for crocheting afghans or quilting - as much as I love those things - I lose interest or patience! Quick results! I am a busy Mom - things have to happen fast! So good luck with any future projects and definitely make a post about it! Take care ~ Laurie
time has flown, linda; can you believe it is already nearly the middle of january??? it is crazy!!!
i'm so happy you are feeling better:) i've thought about you and was hoping that it was not because of illness that you have been away from lindanjake!!!
enjoy!!!
forgive!!!
love,
dani
Hi Linda,
Blogging can take over your life. It has enriched mine in so many ways too...guess it is all about balance!
Thanks for the visit,
Diane
Great post, Linda! I will be posting my word for the year in the next few days. I would love to know where you ordered your necklace from. What a great idea to have a constant reminder tied around your neck. I TOTALLY understand what you're saying on the blogging business. I too have already decided to cut back with on blogging. I truly can't afford the time that I've been spending! It's so much fun! However, many of us are falling into a trap of blogging too much that it may not be honored.....know what I mean? Okay, enough said in this comment! Again, great post!
I am so glad you are feeling better. When I took a blog break before the holidays. I realized how much time I had been spending at the computer. My kids said they always knew they could find me in front of it... I felt like I was missing out with them. So I try not to sit here everyday. Now I can go a few days without even getting on the computer.
