Mt. Shasta is a dormant volcano. It has not had an eruption in over 200 years yet it has openings on it's surface (fumaroles) which show it is alive. These fumaroles still emit smoke and gases to this day. Mt. Shasta is the fifth highest peak in California and it's majesty is evident, no matter what time of year you see it.
While driving home from Oregon this last time, I took some beautiful pictures of Mt. Shasta. At times it seemed like we were at the base of the mountain yet we were miles away. How would you like to see this view from your kitchen window each day!?!
Mount Shasta always has a humbling effect on me and the beauty of this masterpiece overtakes me. It makes me think about God. It makes me think about his greatness. For as long as I live, I will forever be amazed by the hand of God.

That is truly a beautiful sight.
It is gorgeous, and I love the cloud formations around it!
We drove home through California on the way home from Seattle a couple of years ago and was amazed by the beautiful sight.
Gosh, that is a beautiful sight.
I would love that view from my kitchen window!
God has certainly created so much beauty for us to enjoy.
Reminds me of Mt.Rainer here in WA...very lovely photo!

Would you believe that my sister in law does have that view. I know. It is so awesome.
Lucky you got to see again. I miss that mountain.
Simply breathtaking!!! I don't think I've ever seen anything that beautiful! How could anyone ever look at it and doubt that God is REAL?
Linda,
I get to see this site each day..it is a georgeous site to behold-especially when I come home at lunch and the day is at its best. Sometimes I take pictures as it just overwhelms me so. Must have about 500 versions of it's cloud formations. About 2 weeks ago it had a triple hat on and that was something I hadn't seen in years. I am telling you that you and Howard and Jake need to stop the next time you are passing through...at least to say hello!

I have never seen Mt. Shasta. It truly is beautiful beyond words.
You hit it right on the nail when you said, to be able to see God's hand...
I too, am grateful for the beauty and majesty of our Father, what amazing gifts he gives us in beauty and grace.
Have a fantastic day.
