In the morning, I spent time on the computer, leisurely reading blogs and such. I was able to catch up on everything. Then I started cleaning and doing laundry...lots and lots of laundry. I washed every piece of bedding in the house. I haven't been home on a Saturday for about 6 weeks so this time at home to clean and get myself organized was sheer heaven. I love puttering around the house, especially on days like yesterday when the weather was nice enough to have the doors and windows open.
In the afternoon we had someone come out to measure for carpet. It's time for new carpet and we need to just bite the bullet and get it done. We're so indecisive about things that it usually takes us months (or years!) but we've picked out the carpet, agreed on a color, and now were negotiating price. We'll know for sure tomorrow if it's a go.
Hubby and I ran a few errands then started our nice dinner at home. We didn't end up with the bbq dinner as planned, instead we had these...
I do make a mean taco if I do say so myself! I make them just like my Mom used to. I brown the hamburger meat, put the meat in corn tortillas, then fry them in hot oil. It's a messy process and I ALWAYS get splattered with hot oil but boy are they worth it. They were a favorite of mine growing up and they're a favorite of my family too. It's a happy day around here when I mention making tacos for dinner.
I hope your Valentine's Day was enjoyable also and most of all, I hope you felt loved! Have a wonderful Sunday!

Hi Linda...Hubby and I didn't exchange any gifts for Valentines Day..we didn't think it was necessary...we spent it together and that was fine with us!
I am doing laundry and bedding today..I actually have to go to the laundromat tomorrow to wash 2 king size comforters that are too big for my machine....fun fun.
Hugs,
Robin
Mexican food is one of our mainstays around here.
We didn't do anything except just be together. Grace and I made heart sugar cookies.
Glad you had a relaxing day!
Sounds like you're a busy gal! Happy Valentine's day!
Hugs, sharon
Doesn't it feel good to get laundry caught up and have a clean house?! Awww and I love it when the weather is nice enough to open windows.
Your dinner looked extra good. Tacos (home made ones at that) are one of my favorite foods.
They are definitely worth the mess.
I had a great day (birthday too, as you know) in the early part of the day, with my family.
We just hung out that evening and loved every part of my day. I took chicken and noodles over to a friend who just had a double mastectomy. She's home recovering and doing SO well. That blessed me to be able to take dinner to her and her husband.
Thanks again for the sweet & thoughtful gift.
I really appreciate you!!!
Love,
Valerie
Sounds like a wonderful Valentine's Day! Those tacos looked yummy!

Boy, do those tacos ever look yummy! Glad you had a nice Valentine's Day!
What a pleasant day with a nice dinner. The tacos sound yummy.
We went out to lunch and had a great time laughing and being together.
yummy tacos...they sound a little too labor intensive to me. In fact I don't fry anything, not because I don't like it, but because you can smell it in the house for days and it is such a mess to clean up. Kenny likes to fry chicken occasionally and he does it outside on the burner of his grill.
Ours was very quiet too.
I LOVE good homemade tacos!
Enjoy your week.
Sounds really lovely. I am curious too--do you fry them with the meat in them? We still have kids at home so we just had a "celebrate the love" day and grilled some steaks and watched movies.
