Since thrifting has become a new found hobby of mine, I was glad to discover Leigh and her Thrifty Thursdays. She asks us to showcase something we've picked up through thrifting, be it from a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, or antique store. Leigh says "Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasures you've found. So...do show and tell."
So true Leigh, it is about the thrill of the hunt and let me tell you I was beyond thrilled when I found these glass goblets for $1.50 each. They are a vivid green and nothing like I have ever purchased before. I usually don't go for much color but I couldn't walk away from them.
Have you ever watched Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee? Her recipes include alot of store bought items to make cooking easier and less time consuming. I like that! I was doing the happy dance when I picked up one of her cookbooks for around $2.00.
The glass goblets and the cookbook were things that I found almost a year ago on my very first trip to the goodwill, ever. After that, I was hooked and I've never looked back. I like to think of myself as a goodwill convert!
I can't wait to stop by and see all of your treasures too! Happy Thrifty Thursday!

Are those glasses depression glass? If so, they could be worth a lot more than $1.50 each!
You did good! I have one of Sandra Lee's cookbooks and I like it. I need to be a Good will convert - I seem to have terrible luck when I go there, or maybe I'm just not good at finding the good stuff!
I love your green goblets...they sure would look nice with my china (hint, hint). ;) You did very well on your thrifting, I must say!
oooooOOOOOOooooo How pretty those green goblets are! And what a fantastic price you got them for too! I love them, absolutely love them, would have bought them myself if I had seen them *smiles* Now you'll have to post a tablescape so we can see how you used them *smiles*
Your glasses are so beautiful, I love the bright green color, you did good. I just love TS hopping, it's so much fun. I can't wait for the Longest Yard sale this year. I have a ball when I go.
Those glasses are beautiful. They'll make such a great 'Tablescape' that Sandra is so fond of!
I haven't been much for thrifting the last few years BUT I have picked up some sweet deals over the years.
One great find was an antique rocking chair (dates to 1880s) that was in perfect condition. I refinished it (it did need that) and still have it in my basement. I can't believe the kids haven't wrecked it!
I love the green glasses! Perfect with white dishes for spring, or even used with red at Christmastime! Great find!
Oh, I like this... sharing our thirty buys!!! LOVE those green goblets!!! (LOVE green)
Is there any other color than green? ha not for me. You made two awesome purchases i'd say! I may have to visit our goodwill store.
What incredible finds, Linda! I love to watch Semi Homemade. I have gotten the best recipes from that show. Recipes that I use often and cuts half the time from homemade. Love that!
Now those glass....."GET OUT!!!!" Those are gorgeous! I love the color! They are absolutley beautiful. And don't you know that because they are so pretty that everything you drinkout of them will taste better and be "special". It's true. My mom taught me that! LOVE those glasses, You got a GREAT deal! The right place at the right time.
Good for you!

No I have never seen that show. Those goblets are cool. You can use them on St. Patricks day.. I saw some in a catalog that were so expensive. Isn't it great to get them so much cheaper..
How's little sis?
Giver her my # & tell her to call me. I'll meet her for lunch. Maybe a park so the girls aren't wild..
Bren...at first I read that as GIRLS GONE WILD! opps.
Love your finds Linda. I wouldn't have been able to pass up those goblets either!

Hi Linda,
Yep...thrifting is the way to go and it really gets in your blood!!!
I had withdrawl when I was sick and didn't go for a week...tomorrow I'm thrifting and maybe to an estate sale on Saturday.
Enjoy your new carpet...sorry that your JOB gets in the way !!!
Warmly,

I love green glasses. I have a collection of green glasses (I wonder where they are, come to think of it...) but they were NOT thrifty lol Yours look like fun. I hope you enjoy using them!
Linda, thank you for visiting my blog, so that I could find YOUR blog! I was instantly hooked with that beautiful furbaby's picture as a header. I look forward to reading more of your blog!
Thrifty Thursday is cool. I'm doing Frugal Friday over at my blog.
Oh, green is my favorite color - what a great deal! And I'm a big fan of Sandra Lee and Goodwill, too! :)
A few years ago I went to a local glass show and got hooked on collecting Anchor Hocking green goblets and plates. It's addicting! Your goblets for $1.50 a piece are a real bargain.
What a great idea - thrifty thursday! Great finds!!
