What's The Big Deal About Phones!?!

Verizon LG Voyager Pictures, Images and Photos

I got this phone yesterday and while it appears to do everything except make coffee, it's just a phone. What's the big deal about phones anyway!?!

My husband and daughter are phone freaks. The minute we're allowed an upgrade, they're on it, ready for the next new best phone on the market. I don't get it. To me, a phones a phone. But apparently I'm wrong.

We received a phone call telling us we had an upgrade coming. I didn't tell my husband because I knew he'd be bugging me 24/7 to go down and pick out a new phone. Well I didn't have to tell him because he already knew, probably had been online checking it all out already! So yep, the bugging started and kept up until I went down yesterday and picked out a phone. I saw this phone (which was recommended by my sister), pointed to it, and said "I'll take that one." Didn't know anything about any of the features, didn't care. Just didn't want to spend the day in the Verizon store.

Too late, over 1 hour later I'm still there. My husband's in his element, loving all the phone talk between him and the sales personnel.

Me, I'm just trying to memorize all the information the lady's giving me. All I want is to send and receive phone calls, and maybe a little texting. Plain and simple. I don't need it to make coffee, I'm not a coffee drinker remember!

So, wish me luck with my new phone...if I ever get it back. Hubby's been playing with it since we got home last night!

Linda...too funny! My girls got new phones yesterday, we just order from AT&T online and they were over the moon excited! Yes it's got a little pop out keyboard so their constant texting can move at an even faster pace!!!
I'm lamenting the fact I didn't get an I phone when my upgrade came last fall...........and I just can't see buying a new phone now, when I just got one.........I'm more practical, even when I really want one...LOL.
I hope you enjoy your new phone...........soon.

I love when it is time for my upgrade. I am so excited when I can get a new phone. I love all the gadget and doo-das.

I just don't like talking on it...ask Bren.

But you can text me all day long.

I'm with ya Linda...I've had an upgrade for about a year now and have never gone and gotten a new one. I just want to use my phone as a phone and that's it. My kids make fun of me that mine still has an antenna...sheesh!

Hugz,
Michele

Linda,

I am so with you on the phone issue. My hubby isn't too bad, it is our girls and after two years with the same phone I caved in Jan. and let the girls pick it out (which is what they do for me). I like simple, now I sound like my mom. LOL

Bless poor little Jake, he is adorable.

I like a new phone. :-)

I just got an upgrade quite recently, actually. I'm still getting used to it. I keep saying, "it's too much phone for me!" but when the hubs says, "we can take it back" I snatch it away so fast it would make your head spin!

Thanks for stopping by!

LOL I couldn't care less about my phone either. I just send DH to Verizon to get mine when we upgrade.

Now all ya have to do is figure out how it works.

Huh- I wonder if I could get upgraded on my phone.. I am like you though. I don't text or play any games on my phone. I just make phone calls. That's it!!
Good luck learning it.

too funny that it is your husband! Looks like a beautiful phone--but I am like you--let me make calls and an occasional test!

That is hilarious! My husband is the gadget man in the family, too, though I confess I'm completely in love with my red BlackBerry and couldn't live without it!

I hate change, but am always glad after I get used to the new.
We can upgrade any time and I'm trying to decide what I'm gonna get next. I'm afraid if I get one with all the gadgets I'll be obsessed. ;)
I hope you enjoy the new phone and get it all figured out quickly.

my katherine's a phone kind of girl, too, linda. i usually get whatever phone she chooses by default. that way we can share the accessories.
i would probably be more "in" to phones, too, if not for my laptop, though:)
good luck with your new one; i hope you enjoy it!!!
love,

I was never a phone person until I got my Iphone. That little puppy is worth every penny. It is not only a phone but a computer.
I can blog in the car while waiting for my kid at piano lessons or I can watch a movie while I am waiting for baseball practice to end.
That is when I became unable to live without a phone - when I got one that does everything.
Good luck getting yours back from your hubby!
