Treat Yourself To This...

julie & julia poster Pictures, Images and Photos

What an uplifting, fun movie! I mentioned to my husband on Friday that I wanted to see this movie and believe me, he didn't exactly jump for joy. In fact, his exact words were "I'm not interested in seeing a chick flick!" But he did, and we both loved it. Meryl Streep is brilliant and adorable as Julia.

I never knew any details about Julia Childs but I'm now a fan. I think I'll buy her cookbook. I'd love to try the Beef Bourguignon!

Good Morning Miz Linda,
I've been wanting to see this movie too! I love Julia Childs and remember when I was little watching her on tv. She was brilliant and such an inspiration to many people. Last year I caught an old episode of Julia and Friends I think it was called where she had Emeril on cooking with her, can you imagine? It was so much fun to watch. I can't wait to see the movie *smiles*

I loved the movie...food and blogging...two of my favorite things! My mom and I went to see it and it definitely makes you feel like cooking something new.

Oh, Linda, I am dying to see the movie. SO many bloggers are talking about it!!

Have always loved Julia Child. Have two of her cookbooks and used to watch her show waaaaaay before the Food Network came along!! She has a memoir also. I think I will look for that!

Enjoy your Sunday!! :-)

I adored this movie! I have a copy of Mastering the Art of French Cooking that belonged to my sister.
She used to make yummy things from this cookbook. My copy was in it's seventh print in 1967. I'm so glad I still have it. I had never before known the love story behind Julie Childs.

It really was a good movie even tho' my sarcastic post about 'those' parts may have given the impression I didn't like the movie as a whole.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Have a great week, Linda.

I started the book, but have not seen the movie yet. This might end up in my post, but in the movie did they make the wine poached eggs? In the book I just got past that, but not past that in my thinking. Purple eggs!! ooooooh! lol! Can't wait to see the movie!

So glad to hear that your husband liked this movie too. I've heard wonderful reviews about it. But I wasn't sure if I should try dragging my husband along. I think I'll suggest it to him...
