It's That Time Of Year Again

Flu Vaccination Pictures, Images and Photos

I got my flu shot yesterday. Getting a flu shot won't prevent you from getting the flu, but if you do, the results won't be as severe. I also plan on getting the H1N1 (Swine Flu) injection too.

The viruses in the flu shot are killed (inactivated), so you cannot get the flu from a flu shot. Some minor side effects that could occur are:

•Soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given
•Fever (low grade)
•Aches

Each winter our hospitals are full of really sick patients. I try my best to not be one of them. Take your vitamins regularly and be proactive and get your flu shot. It just may save you a hospital visit.

Hi Linda,
I normally get my flu shot around the beginning of Nov. but I'm a little leery of the swine flu shot. My DH and I got the swine flu shot back in the 70's but we never got the 2nd shot. My cousin became paralyzed for about a year after she got her shot. She now has MS. Also my SIL is a nurse and she won't take it so I don't know. I think I need to know if anyone is having any bad reactions from the shot. Have a good night! Hugs, Loretta

I want to get a flu shot. I need to find a doctor. And a dentist. And a few other things in this new town too.

My nephew just got his flu shot this week...it seems early to me...are they recommending them earlier this year?

I get the flu shot every year, usually in October. I'm surprised by how many nurses are afraid to get it. I've had no problems!

A helpful PSA today! My kids both had the flu mist, but I haven't had anything yet. I suppose I should...

We all get a flu shot every year. Kim and I have to because we are in health care and Griffin gets one from the immunologist since he is considered high risk (asthma, etc.) and I always have Luci get one when we take Griffin in. We are supposed to get the H1N1 shot at work also but I am worried about the whole side effects thing.

All this talk about how horrible the swine flu is going to be & how many kids it's going to kill kindof has me scared. I plan on my kids getting both shots. But I hope I can do them together in one day.
Good for you!!
