Yesterday while we were out driving, I asked Howard to pull over so I could take a picture of something I had seen earlier that day on my walk. We pulled over in a park right next to the ocean and I headed out to take my picture. I walked over to the ledge, stooped down to take a scenic picture when I caught something out of the corner of my eye. I looked down right below me and got startled for a minute until I realized what it was. I had never seen one of these so up close and personal before.
These pictures don't quite show it but this was one very large sea turtle. Guess it came out of the water to relax in the sand and get some sun. I've seen lots of turtles in the water before while snorkeling but never one parked on the sand like this. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time, and with camera in hand!

Oh, I would have loved to have seen one up close and personal! I LOVE seas turtles...what a treasure! So, tell me...is the weather nice there? It's been raining cats and dogs here for over a day! UGH!
Wow- That is so cool!!! When Troy & I were there almost 10 years ago we were watching the ocean after hiking around the rocks & saw something huge. We thought a swimmer was in trouble and watched it bob up & down. We knew were we where at that we couldn't jump in to save them and waited for the person to come in. After like 15 mins we realized it was a huge turtle!
My brother & sister in law are in hawaii right now. My sister in law got them tickets for his 50th b-day & their anniversary & her b-day all this month!! Lucky dogs
Wow! That's not a site you see everyday....well unless you live in Hawaii all the time.
