It's Friday

And I'm nosy...

"Hi, my name is Linda, and I'm addicted to buying dish towels!"

I love to display dish towels on my oven door, give them as gifts, and buy cute ones for each holiday. I have one drawer where I store my "not for use" dish towels and one drawer for my everyday dish towels.

So here's the question(s):

Do you think this is weird?
Am I alone in my addiction?
Do you buy cute dish towels for different holidays?

No your not weird. Most women love dish towels I think. Why else would they have so many to choose from? They'd all just be plain jane if we didnt like all the pretty, themed and holiday dish towels! LOL

I love dish towels too - not quite as much as you though... I was actually going to try and pick up a few today!

Ooooo, I have the same problem. I sew a lot and I sew too many.
Enjoy every one of them, life is too short to worry about how many you have.
Luv it,
Susan {:o)

I LOVE LOVE dish towels too. dh hates that I have so many in the drawer. I had to separate them out by season. My friends buy me towels when they go on trips. It cracks me up how we all have so much in common.

No, Linda, I don't know why, but I'm not into buying dish towels. I have a set of them that go with my kitchen decor and I'm as happy as a clam.

Not a dishtowel girl. Oh yeah, I have a few and even one that matches in my kitchen, but I'm such a bad environment person when it comes to paper towels.

You are not weird. My mom loves to buy dish towels as gifts, she's given me most of what I own. I recently painted my kitchen, and bought loads of new towels......they set the right mood.
Yes I have holiday dish towels, doesn't everyone?

No, you're not wierd. Everybody's got something they collect. I don't collect dishtowels but I do collect paperweights.

I bought 3 new dishtowels this week-- 2 to use and one in the not-to-use drawer!

I like dishtowels... but, nowhere near to the extent my mom and my daughter do! Maybe I don't have to since I'm surrounded by a generation on each side that do it for me! LOL! They are the enablers!

Dear Linda,
No you are not weird.
You are lucky you have drawers for the do not use ones.
I have four drawers in my entire kitchen.
I would love to just have "look" towels.
However, I've tried and my family still used them. Instead of getting mad, I decided I would pick a battle I could win. This wasn't one of them.
I think you should post pictures of your towels!

Yes I am a collector!
And by the looks of it, there are a few of us.
When my drawers are full, I buy cute ones and give them away.
Towels make a great way to wrap a gift, too.

Hi Linda, I do to collect dish towels, My mother made me some darling hand embroidered towels that I do not like anyone to use.
She is very crafty and she use to have a very best friend name Louise and I use to know some one in Junior High name Linda. Can you guess who I am? My mother is at my side right now telling me she and your mother used to go to church together and everybody would get them mixed up. Hee Hee Haa Haa Guess who I am?

No, you aren't weird. I don't collect dishtowels and just barely got some Christmas ones to use next year. But I do collect other things, I have three large totes of yarn in my basement.

Linda, I try to do that and would love to do that, but I still have four children living here. My MIL lives with us now as she has Alzheimer's, so even though she is sweet as can be, things don't always stay, pretty or new looking around here right now. I think when the kids are gone and I have more time, I will definitely do what you do. Kathi

I'm a thrift store fan - and one thing I can't resist are the old linen (calendar-type) dish towels! For one thing, I like to dry dishes with them. For another, when I find them still crisp and bright, I enjoy displaying them. I've been known to give a suitable one to friends wrapped around a loaf of bread, etc.
