The good news is that I'm starting to feel like my old self again. This last week I discovered I could get around fine with the boot and using only one crutch or none at all. It just made all the difference in the world in my independence and I've been on the go ever since. I got a haircut, took Jake to get groomed, have been to the bank, doctor's office, to the mall and on multiple shopping excursions, out to eat, and to the movies. Yep, it's starting to feel like old times.
Speaking of movies, we went to see It's Complicated. How can you not love a movie when it's starring Meryl Streep! I just love her and I really enjoyed the movie. It had some very funny scenes and I found myself laughing out loud alot. Oh, and the house in the movie is beautiful. I read recently that the interior decorator that did the gorgeous house in the movie Something's Got To Give (with Diane Keaton) was the decorator for this house too. The property was stunning and I can just picture it situated there in Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara is a gorgeous part of California and it's only about 1 1/2 hours from us. In fact, my daughter spent New Year's Eve in Ventura with one of her roommates from college and they went to visit the girl's grandmother in Santa Barbara on Wednesday before New Year's Eve. Come to find out, the grandmother is neighbors with Oprah! Courtney said Oprah's house is pretty well secluded but you could see the helicopter landing pad on Oprah's property from the grandmother's backyard. Pretty neat huh!

You should go see it, you'll enjoy it.

I'm so glad you're getting around better and feeling more like your old self.
Thanks for letting us know about the movie. Meryl Streep is one of my favorites. Her movies are always good. I like movies that make me laugh out loud. My son bought "The Proposal" for me for Christmas and hubby and I watched it last night. I'd seen it, but he hadn't. That's been my favorite movie this past year.
That is really cool about your daughter and where she got to stay. Fun!
As you know, Danny & I spent our anniversary in Santa Barbara this past July. It's beautiful.
I'm gonna go see this movie soon!
Have a great weekend!
Love,
Val
So glad to hear you are healing and getting back to normal!
Glad your ankle is really on the mend and you are feeling better!
I think it would be so fun to be that close to Oprah's property - very cool!
Take it easy...you don't want to undo all of the good healing that's take place, now DO YOU??? LOL
We LOVED It's Complicated...funniest movie I've seen in ages.
i'm so happy for you that you're on the mend and able to get out and enjoy, linda!

Glad your ankle is doing better. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel can't you?
Looks like a cute show.
I love Alec Baldwin.
I am so glad you are getting around with more ease. Crutches suck! We are going to the movies tonight to see Sherlock Holmes. I kind of want to see New Moon again, but dh already thinks I am a crazy girl. LOL.
Hi Linda,
That is great that you are getting around, out and about!!!
I guess that Oprah would have a helicopter!! LOL!!!
I need to make a list of movies I would like to see...or if I wait longer enough I can rent it!!
Happy weekend!
Warmly,
Deb :)
I'm so glad to hear you are healing nicely, Linda. I feel the same way you do about Meryl Streep. I saw It's Complicated and enjoyed it very much. Take care and pace yourself!
She can see what on Oprah's property? A helicopter landing pad? Unbelievable! So glad you're feeling better and I hope that ankle will hold you up nicely when you put your weight on it! It is kind of scary at first. Hang in there and know we're all pulling for you!
I totally understand about a broken ankle. I broke my a few years back. I hated the mornings.
Glad you are doing better.
Just think, you'll be able to tell when the weather changes because your ankle will let you know!
I'm glad that you feel more like yourself, and getting around easier!
I love Meryl streep, I like to see any movie that she is in!
I have to report that we did go see Sherlock Holmes. I was really enjoying it until my dh and friends were shaking me awake. I missed the last 10 minutes. Good grief.
