It's Friday

And I'm nosy...

So here's the question: What time do you get up in the morning? Are you a morning person or are you a night owl?

Well friends, that fateful day has arrived for me. Today is my first day back at work after being off for 10 weeks. My last day at work was the day before Thanksgiving!

Sooo, today I was up by 3:45am and out the door by 4:40am. I start work at 5:00am. Even though I've had this schedule for 7 years, it's hard for me. I've always been a night owl.

Normally, on non-work days, I wake up early automatically but can fall back asleep. I'm not gonna lie, I've never been a morning person but have been one out of necessity. Some days I'm up and at it fairly early, other days not, it just depends on what's going on. If I've just finished working 3 12-hour shifts in a row, I'm lucky if I'm dressed by noon that following day!

One thing is certain, it's quite different when your kids leave the nest. With no kids to wake up in the morning, no more carpools to drive, and no more breakfasts or lunches to make in the morning, your schedule is your own!

I'm definitely an early bird! Even on days when I want to sleep in, my body just wont let me.

Oh Linda, first I hope your return to work is smooth, and that your ankle/foot is in good shape.
I am NOT a morning person. I have to take Nick to school, so I'm up @ 6:30am. I NEED to find a job and that might require getting out of the house with my hair and make up done too...oh my!!

I am a morning person. Hi Linda, since I have not heard from you in over 20 years, what type of work do you do? What happened to your foot? I'm glad you are better now, have a nice day at work.
Love,
Debra

Oh boy I'm a night owl all the way! Mornings are so painful for me - I literally could stay in bed till 10 or 11 every morning so thank goodness there are things that get me up in the morning!
Your early schedule would be very hard for me!

I hope your first day back to work is Great just like you!

My day starts at 5:00am everyday. Saturday and Sunday also, my body just wakes up. I wish I could sleep in, but I can't.
The dogs also get me up. They know when it is time to go outside.
Today we have fresh snow on the ground so I might need a nap this afternoon. {:o)
Enjoy,
Susan

I think I'm like you. I have to get up early but I don't love it.

I always wake up about 0500 but on dayz off I usually fall back to sleep for another hour or so.

Good luck getting through the day with your footie! I'll be thinking about ya as I pound the halls of the ER.

3:45 is terrible! I 'm a night owl too, but I get up at 5 when I'm working, which is most of the time!

I hope your first day back goes well.

I am a total night owl. I get up at 6:30 during the week to get the kiddos off to school. Now that the kids are getting a little older I can sleep in a little bit on Saturday.

I hope your first day back is a good one!

I'm an early riser, no matter what time I go to bed. Pretty much always up by 6. And wide awake. Sometimes earlier but I try to stay in bed til 6 because it annoys my husband if I get up any earlier. He would love to sleep in but if I'm up he feels like he can't.

Have a nice weekend!

The only time I get up that early is to go fishing. I like mornings and I stay up to late. My ideal time to wake up is 7 am. Early but not too early. My son gets up for school at 6:30, takes care of the dog and then comes in to wake me up. I have stopped setting my alarm clock because it is a lot more pleasant to be woken up by my child.

I have always been an early bird....but when you are semi-retired and everyone is gone in the morning it is tough to get going. Takes me so long to get up, have coffe, read blogs (ha) and get out the door!!!!

3:45 is EARLY!! And, I thought I was an early bird at 5am. That's pretty much it on the weekends, too! LOL! Hope your return to work was smooth!

WHAT - you were up at 3:45 a.m. I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A 3:45 a.m.
Obviously, I am NOT a morning person. Never have been.
I like to sleep until about 8:30 or 9:00-- Life really shouldn't start much before 9:00.

My hubby likes to get up earlier, around 6. NOT ME. He lets me sleep in. And now that I don't have to work anymore....I DO.
I used to be more of a night owl, but now I am lucky if I can stay awake until 10:00.

I'm not a morning person at all...and really do not like for anyone to talk to me until I have had my coffee. I get up at 6:00am on work days but on the weekends I live to sleep in...well, to at least 8:30

Linda, what a struggle to have to get up THAT early. Does it feel kind of good to be going back though? I wanted to address what you said in the last paragraph because I was just discussing this with my 28 year old son. I told him it's so odd that for the first time in my life, I actually wouldn't HAVE to get up -- I'm an empty nester, my husband gets himself off very early and actually prefers his alone time in the morning, no kids at home that needs any help. I have found myself laying in bed asking myself, "Hmmm ... is there any reason to get up today?" I've struggled with depression before, but I think it's hitting very hard now.

Anyway -- in reference to couponing, I really wanted to refer you to this site. It is where you will find specifically good coupons which you can print directly from your computer. She matches them up with a sale and tells you exactly what to buy. It doesn't get any easier.

http://hip2save.com/

Very user friendly.

Also -- my sister went to RESTORE a day or so after me and said that the only thing there is "junk", so either I was very lucky, or she had no idea how to shop there. Each Restore is different, and mine does look like a bunch of junk, so I had to go there dressed to rummage!

Let me know.

I think I'll sign up to follow you. We go back and forth quite a bit and maybe we have a few things in common!

I don't know what in the world I am. I rarely stay up past 11:00 PM but despise getting up early, which is exactly what I have to do Monday through Friday. I guess maybe that makes me lazy.

Wow....3:45!
I love staying up late and usually stay up a couple of nights a week. On Mondays after Bible study it's hard for me to come home at 8:00ish and unwind.
I get up around 6:30 and don't have to be at work until 9:30 so I have plenty of time for my quiet time, treadmill (when I'm a good girl and actually do it) and time to talk to my daughter while she's on her way to work.
I hope you're enjoying being back at work.

Hi Linda,
It's good to see you can wear shoes again!!!
I more a morning gal. When it's dark...I don't get much done as I love sunlight!
Good find at the thrift store. It seems that at some point you find what you want!
I hope you have a great week and work doesn't tire you out!
Warmly,
Deb :)

I am not a morning person either. I am a night owl too. I stay up late most nights. I just can't turn myself off long enough to fall asleep. It catches up with me by the end of the week usually. I wake up at 6:15 when my daughter crawls in bed with me. She gets up and gets dressed on her own and then comes downstairs and rests until 6:30. While I make her breakfast.

I do not know how you get up so early!

I've always been a morning person! I do so much better when it's early. 4:30 is when my alarm starts going off and then I am in bed long before 10pm. More like 8.

had a nap today, so a little harder to get to sleep : )

I definitely am a morning person. I'm usually up between 5-5:30, except on weekends. That's my quiet time, plus I am lots more productive in the morning. Luvpilot on the other hand, is a night person. It worked out well when for night time feedings with our babies.
