Am I the only one out there who had never heard of or tried Fry Sauce before?
A few weeks back my blogging buddie Andie, who was visiting relatives in Utah, mentioned Fry Sauce in one of her posts. I commented that I had never tried it and low and behold, that sweetheart sent us a bottle. She said she couldn't picture me going through life without ever trying Fry Sauce!
Not only did I try it, but I bent my "no fries" rule and went to Wendy's for some fries. Wendy's has the best fries and if I'm going to bend the rules, I might as well go for the best! I've given up french fries completely and haven't had any in months but I wanted to taste it for myself...
Pretty darn good stuff I might add! It tastes like Thousand Island dressing and I love Thousand Island dressing! We don't have Fry Sauce here in CA (is it only a Utah thing?) but Thousand Island dressing or a mayo/ketchup mixture would be the next best thing.
Thank you Andie for making sure life didn't pass me by without trying Fry Sauce. My life is now complete!

I've never heard of it, but I bet it's good. My sister makes her own version of it. She always mixes ketchup and mayo to dip her fries in. I'll have to tell her about this!
I've never heard of Fry Sauce either!
Hi Linda: Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. Yes, I am trying the 1 photo a day for a year thing. I agree with you sometimes my life is just not that interesting, but it's still a fun challenge (at least so far) and some of pictures are of the most mundane things. But that's okay, because that's just real life. It seems my dog gets in a lot of the pictures. lol. But I think your challenge of 1 picture a week is a good idea too.
Oh and I've never heard of Fry Sauce here in Ohio either.
Again thanks for visiting and come back whenever you like.
Cathy
Never heard of it. I'm staying away from fries as well so I'm not sure I need to know about this : )
I've never heard of fry sauce either. It reminds me of the zesty sauce you can get with onion rings at Burger King.
At least you had fun trying it!
Heck yes!! We practically have the Church of Fry Sauce in Idaho. The Arctic Circle in Twin Falls has the best!!
I know it looks like ketchup and mayo mixed together or even a little like thousand island dressing. But if you are a fry sauce afficionado you know that it's not exactly those combinations. I don't know what's in the mystery mixture, but it's a recipe all its own.
Hail to fry sauce. You gotta love it. Bring on those fries and sauce!!
P.S. I love the dog on your header. OOOHH! Looks a little like my Lola.
Oh always eat fry's with fry sauce!!!!
Yummy-I have never heard of fry sauce either. I think I would really like it. It is probably a good thing that we don't have it here in CA.
Linda,
I had to laugh when I saw your post. I never knew about fry sauce until I married a boy from Idaho - it is pretty much a staple in any restaurant in Idaho or Utah that serve french fries!
I was in Utah this last week and went to an upscale restaurant that served fresh cut fries in a fancy container and they still came with fry sauce. It's actually pretty good - just mix some ketchup and mayo together!
Utah has So many things the rest of the world doesn't... There is a shake place that I can't remember the name now. But man- the best shakes you could ever have. They opened one here in AZ & then after years the stupid place closed down! I heard the owners wanted to retire & it was to busy for them to keep up. Whaaat!!!
Anyway- No fry sauce here either. But I love In & Out Sauce on my fries.... And I love their fries hot & fresh..
Hi Linda! thanks for stopping by my blog. Yes, your little Jake does favor my Chrissy girl. She is a pek-a-poo...what is Jake? And..haha, my son's name is Jake!
Never seen or heard of fry sauce!! Around here more and more people are dipping there fries in Ranch Dressing. I like mine in ketchup with lots of pepper on the ketchup!
It almost looks like the zesty sauce they give out at Burger King for the onion rings. I love Burger King fries the best! Love Di
I heard about Fry Sauce on some TV show I watched not long ago. My girls would LOVE it!
I've never heard of fry sauce either but then I'm a California girl too. Don't ya just love blogging...we get to try new things all the time.
Connie
Hi Linda,
Never heard of that either...
Sorry about the "sister thing"..I have 2 younger sisters and we are polite to each other...and totally have different lives.
Maybe next year you can come to my house for Super Bowl sunday!!
Take care!
Warmly,
Deb
Thanks for the "mail"!!
We have never tried fry sauce either which is funny because we have a food place here that goes by the same name!
Nope. Never heard of FrySauce. Looks yummy tho'. And I agree with you, I think Wendy's fries are the best!
You are funny!
FrySauce is the best! I am amazed that it hasn't caught on outside of Utah and Idaho. Artic Circle here in Utah and Idaho have some of the best, but the little greasy spoon type places all seem to have their own version. It tastes really good on a hamburger too.
We either make our fry sauce or are sure that a bottle of "some guys fry sauce" is in the fridge...yea you can even find it in WALLY WORLD!
AC Fry sause tops the list of the best!
Watch out it can be addicting! LOL
I work in the kitchen at an elementary school and those kids are very skilled in making their own fry sauce - it's hilarious!!
I've never heard of it either. Sounds good though.
I never heard of it but it sure sounds good. My daughter likes to dip her fries in mayo. Hubby likes mayo and ketchup. I might have to try Thousand Island.
Are you serious???? I always forget that Fry Sauce is kind of a UT thing.
Now try it on your burger! TO DIE FOR
ive never heard of this either
(Bren - that place was called Iceberg. My grandparents lived right next door to it in UT.)
Right after we moved to AZ from UT, I went to DQ and asked for some fry sauce with my fries. He just looked at me and said, "You mean ketchup?" I had no idea until that point that it was just a UT thing. Although I did find it at the McDonald's in Page, AZ once. Love that stuff. We make our own. In fact, I don't even care for fries but will eat them for the fry sauce.
no fry sauce in the south either and I have thought about it many times when reading other blogs
LOVE IT! we make our own - mayo ketchup and seasonal salt.
