This always puzzles me because I rarely cook anymore. Sometimes it feels like a waste of time to cook for just 2 people so we just play it by ear these days. I work 2-3 days a week and I most definitely don't cook on work days. I'm so exhausted when I get home I can barely stand up, much less cook.
With that being said, let me show you the cookware I recently found at the Goodwill.
I think both of these pieces are brand new as there isn't a mark on them. The rectangular dish was $2 and the covered casserole dish was $4. I think they'll be perfect to use next Christmas because they're so versatile. I'm sure I'll be using them at home and they'll work great for Christmas potlucks. There aren't any markings on the bottom of either dish so I'm not sure if I can use them in the oven or microwave. I'll have to experiment with them to see.
I also found this darling plate. It has little holes all around the plate that you can thread ribbon through for decoration. Even though I don't cook much these days, I do bake now and then. It will be fun to change out the ribbon and use the plate at the different holidays. Again, very versatile!
Have a great Thrifty Thursday!

Awesome! I always go to housewares and then on to the kids' section. I found a crib dust ruffle last week at Goodwill for $2 and it goes perfectly with a baby Christmas crib set I already had from Pottery Barn Kids.
I head right to the housewares. and then furniture.
Nice finds Linda, I like to go to the furniture or knick knacks first. I went today and ended up buying a new picture! Love Di
Hi Linda,
I like your new treasures! The clear plate with "holes" for ribbon is a great idea!
When I go to a thrift store...I don't know where to go first...maybe dishes, craft section, furniture, books....I'm like a deer in the headlights...
I just stand there!
Warmly,
Deb :)
Great finds! I always head to furniture, housewares and then clothing.

It was so sweet of you to have one done of your sister's cat, Babes!
You are a great sister!
Warmly,

I'm like a heat seeking missle when I go to thrift stores. I go to the wall decor/pictures, houseware, bedding, and some times I check out the "better quality" clothing. (Usually I find better clothing buys at the consignment stores.) There are some great consignment stores for furniture and clothes in downtown Phoenix but I haven't been brave enough to venture out there alone.
I do love the bargins. If it's over $5 I feel cheated.
Goodwill is a fun spot. I usually head to women's jackets. I just got a great Ann Taylor jacket for under $5. I go to housewares and then to the kiddo section. I love your treasures.
I don't go thrifting very often, but I go for housewares and home decor.
Love the clear plate, so cute with the ribbon!
Your glass plate is so pretty. I've seen them before with the holes for ribbon, but not in clear glass.
I was just at Goodwill myself today. Makes my heart go pitter patter! ;)
love your finds, the plate is my fav!
My first stop at the thrift store is the housewares dept. too. The dishes you found were a great buy....I love the plate for your baked goodies.

I usually go to the linen section first these days. I used to go to the housewares stuff first but I have soooo much stuff!! I like the plate and it would be fun to use different ribbons for different seasons/holidays ~ Judi
That little plate is so interesting! I've never seen anything like that. How great! I know what you mean about going to one section when you first enter a thrift store. I go for the shoes and clothes. Housewares come later.

What lovely bargains you found! I ♥ that clear glass plate & I do the ribbon threading all the time. Last month mine were red with white polka-dots & this month they're green with white stitching. So fun & your's looks wonderful. :D
The little glass plate is too precious! Very unique!
Hugs ~ Angie
