It's Friday

And I'm nosy...

So here's the question: Do you have an organized plan or schedule with regards to housekeeping? Do you do certain chores on certain days or are you a willy nilly type of homemaker? Are you somewhere in between?

Me, I'm more of the willy nilly type now. I clean something everyday but I have no plan or schedule. I clean certain things when the mood strikes.

When my kids were small, Monday's were always laundry days, and my trip to Target day. My husband would go to work, I'd drop off the kids at school, and I'd head to Target. It was a new week, a fresh start, and I was more motivated back then. Ok, maybe motivated isn't the right word, I was more obsessed about cleaning back then. I usually came home from Target with cleaning supplies or fun little decorative goodies which got me in the mood to nest and clean.

I think I need to start going to Target on Mondays again!

If you have a cleaning plan that works for you or if you have any helpful organizational hints regarding housework, please share.

What's chores? haha -- Really since the kids are gone, I've gotten rather lazy in the cleaning department. I focus more on ...well, I'm not sure what I do, but I don't clean hardly at all. I do like working outside, so in the spring I do that. During the winter..I'm just not sure (haha)

I am so very thankful that I am able to have some one come in once a week to do the base cleaning - floors, bathrooms, dusting. I don't know how I could get it done without being a very grumpy mom & wife!

Hi Linda! I usually clean on Mondays and Fridays because I like to get into projects on the weekends so I sort of neglect the house. Friday is laundry day. Sometimes I may have to do a load through the week. But mainly Monday after everyone leaves is the best time to clean, then I just pick up through the week! Happy Cleaning! Love Di ♥

Plan......lol.....not around here!
I do vacuum the area rug often....little white hairs from Trixie bother me....is it possible to stop shedding? The rest gets done as needed/ha
I am lucky that Target is an hour away or I'd be there daily.....

I used to try to get most of my cleaning done on the weekend, often meaning doing a lot after I came home from work.
This year I won this free download from motivated moms. It's a chore download system and has things broken down into small tasks you can do every day. I love it! It's a great way to keep up without cleaning for a few hours straight.
Some of the things on this list can be checked off automatically for me, because i don't have small kids, but the cleaning things are pertinent.
Here's the address if you want to check it out:

I'm in between. I do laundry on Monday, and sometimes as needed because of sports clothes. I grocer shop on Thursdays. Once I had a routine, rooms I did on certain days, now not so much. Some days I do nothing...LOL!
I tried Fly-lady, too rigorous, but the one thing I always do is go to bed with a clean sink and kitchen, and I try to de-clutter all the time, often it's just putting the kids things in their rooms. I do not really clean their rooms, I instead stand over them with a whip until they do........well you know what I mean!

I am lucky that I have cleaning ladies come in every other Wednesday and they get into all those places I don't and wash all the floors by hand. But on the other 28 days I guess I am a little willy nilly. I am a perfectionist about the kitchen bathrooms and my bedroom and clean those every morning. And I pick up all day long because my kids are spoiled and it's not worth the arguing with them to clean up!!

Good question, Linda, I liked seeing everyone's response. Keep up 'Nosy Fridays'!!

I do have a schedule, but lately I haven't been following it and my house shows it. Laundry is done all through the week. The kids are starting to learn to do their own which is nice.
I do like the idea of a trip to Target for something cute to motivate me more.

I've always been willy nilly. I do know that now kids are basically gone it's easier. But they still come around a lot and there's always grandkid handprints on the windows and their little messes. It still seems like it's never done

I'm like you....when the kids were young, I had a very set schedule on cleaning and laundry. But now that they are grown and gone, I just do it here and there, when I feel like it or it needs it!

I'm willy nilly until Saturdays. Then my scouring self comes out!

Definitely willy-nilly for me. After housecleaning other people's homes, I'm not in the mood to be 'on a schedule' for mine. I'd rather just clean when I can get to it.
Happy weekend to ya!

During announcements at church on Sunday mornings, I fill in what I am going to do each day on my calendar for the upcoming week. It is based on what we have going on. I also do menu planning here. It only takes a few minutes very rarely do I not stand during the music time. LOL.

Now, sticking to my calendar is another story, but I do try. My goal is to not have to do any chores on the weekends.

I'm like you, doing what I want, when I feel like it, or when I see it needs to be done. Usually something every day, and almost always a load of laundry every day. Sometimes I'll plan in advance to shampoo the carpets or some thing big, but no set schedule.

I am willy nilly. I used to be more organzied and picky about the house. Now we are running and have been for years so I am not quite the perfectionist I once was.
Some days I am even messy! I feel way less stress too.

I MISS TARGET. We used to be such good friends.

When I had little kids, I pretty much had a schedule.
NOW, it is all willy nilly. Somethings have to be done everyday ..like vacuuming up all the straw dear hubbys manages to drag into the house. (sheeeesh)
and changing the sheets every sunday

but that's it. I have a little house and it only takes a moment to clean it all up.

happy weekend

I am really blessed to have a maid who comes in every Friday to do all of the cleaning. Since it's just the two of us know, we keep things pretty well picked up, the kitchen in order, and the clothes washed. She comes in to dust, sweep, mop, clean the bathrooms and change and wash all of the bed linens. With the hours we work, we wouldn't have a minute of downtime if we didn't have help. Like I said...a TRUE blessing!
