So here's the question(s):
* Will you be making Easter baskets for your kids this year?
* Do you actually use baskets or do you use something else to put the goodies in?
* If your kids are older like mine, do you still make them Easter baskets?
* How old is too old for getting an Easter basket?
I say you're never too old to get an Easter basket! My kids are 21 and 24 and I still try and make the holidays special for them...and for the AZ college roommates too!
This week I sent off 3 Easter baskets wrapped in cellophane to Courtney and her roommates in Arizona, along with some other treats tucked into the shipping box.
My son isn't big on sweets anymore so I did something different for him this year. I purchased and sent him a new Bible, engraved with his full name on the cover. I'm sure he still only has the Bible from his high school years, if at all. I wrote a personal message inside just for him. I hope he likes it and keeps it for years to come. More than anything else though, I hope he uses it and finds comfort in it.
I'll be making some treats to bring into work on Saturday too. A co-worker of mine who is about 25 years old told me a few years back that she loved it when I brought in holiday treats because it made her feel special and like a kid again.
So here's another question: Don't we all just want to feel special and like a kid again! I say YES!

I'm checking out something new today...

Hi I'm from New Friend Friday! My mom and my husband's mom still make us Easter baskets! I don't know what we'll do now that we have our little guy. Easter kind of crept up on me. Thanks for the food for thought.

HI!!!!
My oldest child is 30 and she is married and she still gets an Easter basket of goodies!!!!My 2nd daughter lives in Florida, so I mailed her stuff off to her the other day, but NO basket, our son and his girl friend will both get a basket!!! So will hubby!!! It always includes a special gift and some candy!!!!haha
I so love to keep Holidays special as one is never to old to enjoy the fun of the day!!!!
Great idea with the New Bible, I may do that next year, great idea!!!!
Happy easter
hugs,
jamie
Hmmmmm, I can't decide if I want to do the whole treat thing.
We had a blizzard today so I'm not much in the mood for the bunny party.
Now you have me thinking and feeling guilty. I may have to head out to the store tomorrow and act like a good mom.
My kids are old 31,29,26, 24 and 18 the grandkids would be fun to do something for.
Hi Linda,
I don't do Easter baskets for my kids anymore. Heather is diabetic and dieting as well so doesn't want the stuff, but I did send a package of fun things of to Andy. I think the new bible for your son is a great idea.
Linda you are one of the most thoughtful people I know.
You have the best ideas for showing your kind heart. I don't do baskets for my grown girls anymore, but the youngest, (in her 30's) would love one. She told me a few years ago that all she ever wanted was a Pez Dispenser and I didn't get her one/ha
Good, Good Friday Linda..
Yes I still make Easter Baskets. Sent my Baby Boy (31) and his wife theirs last week and have the others ready for their visit Easter Sunday. When my oldest was in the Army stationed in Germany I sent his basket to him over there. ..lol..his Buddies looked forward to it's arrival every year, cause they got a large bag of candy also.
I don't think you ever get to old.

Hi Linda...oh, I so agree, you're never too old for goodies! I still make Easter baskets for my kids. Some things have changed...no bubbles anymore for my son, but still the candy! And now Liam gets to be in the action too! He didn't get any candy yet...just toys and clothes!
I'm so glad my kids still want to be kids!
Hugz and have a very happy Easter!

My mom still makes me an Easter basket each year. I will be making one...well, not really making one but filling one....for Lexi. She loves opening all the eggs and finding the treats and money in them. At 11 she also knows "the truth" about the Easter Bunny for the first time and was quite concerned that since she "knew" she might not get a basket. HEHEHEHE she will ALWAYS get a basket!!! Hope you have a wonderful Easter with your family.♥
I love how you found the right gifts for your children.
Yes I'm making baskets, they are 16 and 12 our children. I was out of town until Wednesday and I still need to get to Target to get all the treats!
Wishing you a blessed Easter.
I do a little something for the grandkids and Katie. But I don't go crazy like I used to. It gets pricey quickly and I especially want Katie to focus on what Easter really means. But she'll still get a chocolate bunny! Love Di ♥
I'm going to check out the NFF later this afternoon, but wanted to tell you YES, we still do Easter baskets. This year I found black and white polka dot galvanized containers that I am gong to use as Easter baskets. I really wanted to use them to plant flowers in this summer and just needed an excuse to buy them!!!!
Happy Easter!
And here I thought I was the only mom still making an Easter basket for her 20 yr old son.! Ha ha He justs laughs when I give it to him but I know he loves it. I won't stop doing it until he gives me a grandchild! Then it will be for him/her.
We always have one big family basket that will have a small gift for each person in it. Then the candy is shared.
My oldest is 23, the grandbaby is 3 - we'll do the same thing. Although, pretty sure the grandbaby will have more presents than the big boys!
I have always done baskets and colored eggs.
I had Kira and Derek's packages ready to go in the mail "as soon as I got home from my doctors apt."
Kirk called yesterday and said that he sent Derek's over night...I so appreciated that.
Kira's will have to become a "Spring" package.
and Josh will not have one...yea it makes this part of all of it hard.
I love that you got Brandon a Bible.
What an amazing book...of our heavenly Father & Saviors tender mercies.
Happy Easter~
Too old for an Easter basket ??? Never !!!!
We are 4 adults living in this house including myself and I will make each of us a small basket filled with chocolate goodies !!!
Happy Easter !
Diane
Oh Linda, You made my day!!!! I am laughing so hard!!!! I just got my sweet package from you, just in time for Easter....Peeps....all my own!!!! Yipppeeee!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart....you are a sweetie!
A Bible is a perfect gift to give for Easter!
My kids are still little so they get Easter baskets-- but Kim and I do them for each other too. I got some candy for hers as well as a gift certificate for a massage at a local health club.
I love that you do for your daughter's roommates as well. What a great mom you are!
My kids are 19 and 23 and still get Easter baskets. Neither of them will be home this Easter but the baskets are all ready next time they're home. I also do one for my mother and brother.
We are NEVER too old for an Easter basket!!
Yes, yes, yes, we want to feel like a kid again and special.
How nice of you to put the easter baskets together for your daughter and her roomates.
and the new bible for your son....what a wonderful gift, and with your message and signature inside he should treasure it forever.
Easter is such a beautiful time of year.
I don't think you are ever too old to get treats from the Easter Bunny or Santa and my kids think the same thing. I don't fill baskets for my grown kids but I do usually give them some kind of treat. I do make up little baskets for my grandkids to enjoy with the Egg Hunt. I think the holidays are about doing something for others to make them feel special and know they are cared for.
Thanks for visiting my blog...hope you come back soon.
I'm so happy to hear that the majority agrees that your never too old for an Easter Basket!!
My daughter is 35 with a 3 year old and I shipped up to Jersey not one but two baskets for the baby...One from Grandma and Grandpa and one from the Georgia Easter Bunny....Yes, every state has their own Bunny...then I sent a big gift bag with all handmade chocolates for the daughter and SIL...I think you saw my post on the chocolate bunnies I made...I stopped giving a basket to husband because he is dieting....but we felt bad that we always send so much up for the baby so we went out and bought a bunch of stuff for daughter....the new Giada cookbook, a Starbucks gift card, a fancy plate from Williams Sonoma...a DVD and a CD....Because your never too old to get goodies from the parents...she should get that in the mail tomorrow... Happy Easter.
I think it's a great idea! I would love one too :)
I am following you, come follow me now :)
Happy new friend Friday!
