So here's the question: Do you or your husband balance your checkbook every month?
We have 2 checking accounts and I hadn't balanced any of the statements since November. The last time I balanced the checkbooks was on the way home from Hawaii. For the first time in my life, we flew first class and I balanced the statements sitting there in my nice, comfy seat, while eating a wonderful hot fudge sundae they made for us. Yep, it's the truth!
Yesterday I spent hours and hours getting all caught up on paperwork. I balanced 10 statements, paid bills, filed, and went through a pile of paperwork and mail the size of a small mountain. It's a job I detest yet it always feels so good to be organized and on top of things again. I feel quite accomplished! Well at least until the mailman comes again later today!

I do the balancing over here. I do it every couple weeks, using the online feature. I find it's much easier than doing a whole months worth!
Being pampered in first class while balancing the books sounds good though!

I keep mine balanced online and it's fabulous.
My hubs has his own account and he pays everything online so it's easy.
let's just say it's been a while since i last balanced the check book... and i am the one who "balances" it!

We have two checkbooks and I'm the one that keeps them in balance. I do it online though. Every few days I go online, see what receipts hubby "forgot" to give me, get them written down, and make sure they are in balance.
I do ours on line. My hubby has never ever touched the bank statements or paid any bills in 32 years. He would be lost for sure.
We have seperate accounts, that we are both on, but he maintains one and I maintain the other, and I balance mine every day on-line.

I love online banking, I check it out a couple of times a month and it is much easier to keep up with!
Well I'm the balancer in this house, DH wouldn't know where to start. I try to teach him but he just drops the bills and statements on the table by my chair and walks away...Grrrrr.

I have a little play account that I balance.
Three checkbooks (personal, business & rental property) and husband does all of them.
I am one happy gal!
I balance ours every month when the statement comes in the mail. When it balances to the penny (it almost always does) I put a big smile beside the balance because it makes me so proud and happy! :)
P.S. First class to Hawaii would be awesome!
Totally do online bill paying and NEVER balance ....It all goes in the same pot...and I pay all the bills...
Balancing your checkbook on line is the BEST
With husband #1, he did everything, and I usually got into trouble for not ..writing down a check or telling him about it.
husband #2, after being single for 2 years, I learned how to take care of things like that and loved the independence. SO we kept our seperate checking accounts.
husband #3, he does everything again since I am not working. But he involves me in it more. I still have a seperate account of my own in the states.
and as far as balancing things

We do everything online and write so few checks anymore that I just check everything online. No more balancing. I've always balanced the checkbook and used to help customers at good ol' Bank of America when I was 18 years old balance theirs when all of a sudden things didn't add up! :)
