I didn't take the above picture but this is what it looks like at my house today. We are socked in with fog. Fog days are not uncommon for us this time of year and as a matter of fact, kids and teachers welcome them.
The fog gets so thick you literally cannot see across the street. Last night it rolled in about 8pm and caused a "fog delay" for the schools this morning. On fog delay days, kids start school 2 or 3 hours later in hopes that the fog will have lifted and it will be safe enough to bring your kids to school. The news stations will broadcast early which school districts are having fog delays. I used to love fog delays when my kids were in school. It was always so nice to be able to sleep in and lounge around for an extra 2 hours in the morning.
I enjoy days like this when I don't have to be anywhere and today happens to be one of them. I had to go out of town Monday and on my drive back late that night I hit fog that was so thick and dangerous. Today I have no where to be but home!
The perfect day to bake, iron, watch TV, and snuggle with Jake!

wow!!! Sometimes we get fog like that too, but is has been ALL SUNSHINE here for weeks! :)
HI!!!
Fog is kind of scary, but kind of neat too.
In Sunny Az, it is rarely foggy, but I always recall if we drove to Southern Calif. at night it was foggy, and scary!!!
Enjoy your day and maybe it will be foggy again!!
hugs,
jamie
funny...we had fog like that this morning.
I do not mind it if I can stay at home...but in the mornings when I have to drive to get Miss Celes...not as much :-)
WOW...we don't usually get fog that thick here in Maryland. Enjoy your day...sounds like you will!
Gail
We get those fog delays in the spring and Fall. I think the fog can be pretty, but when it's so thick it's awful to drive in.
This is interesting, Linda. We rarely get fog and I don't blame you for not wanting to drive in it. Stay home and relax today...you deserve it!
XO,
Jane
What a neat picture, Linda...kind of eerie looking! Fog is something we rarely have to deal with around here. I'm having a stay-at-home kind of day, too...ENJOY!
We don't see very much fog here, but a few weeks ago we had a really foggy day...it scared my littles because they had no idea what it was. They were afraid we were going to fall of the world while I was driving LaLa to school. We didn't. :P
I hadn't heard of a fog delay day.
We get snow days or -20 below days and the kids don't have school.
Hope you enjoyed snuggling Jake!
We get inversions like this. The air is so bad though, that you can't exercise outdoors and we don't get to see the sun. Just another reason to hate January around these parts!
