All In A Days Work

After having my handsome son with us for a week, it was time yesterday to bring him home. I still call my house, our house, his home but really it's not anymore. He's got a place of his own with roommates and all. Oh and by the way, have I told you about his roommates? He lives with triplets, girl triplets! Really, no lie, and it's strictly platonic! No one was home when we dropped him off so we didn't get to meet them but hopefully we'll meet them soon.

Brandon had been renting a furnished place previously so his furniture was here with us...we'll actually not with us here in the house but at a small storage unit a few blocks away. We figured since he was home this would be a good time to clean out the unit which was full of his furniture, clothes, stereo unit, hockey equipment, etc. Cleaning out the storage unit, and his old closet here at home, was one step closer to decluttering and getting ready for a possible move this summer. It felt good to get it done.

We rented a small U-Haul to bring everything to his apartment so this is what I followed for the 3 hour drive south...

The guys drove the U-Haul but I was perfectly content with my company. My ever present traveling companion...

When we got off the freeway in Anaheim, my window was right next to a one way sign. It was so pretty I had to snap a couple pictures of it. Have you ever seen a one way sign done up so nicely? It was a first for me.

After the truck was unload and good-byes were said, we dropped off the U-Haul at a rental place nearby and headed home in my car. We hit lots and lots of traffic but were treated to the most incredible sunset. I tried taking pictures but I was busy driving so they didn't turn out so well. I just ended up with lots of blurry pictures. Howard was sleeping so I entertained myself with talking pictures while I drove. I took this one of the traffic ahead of me...

And this one of the traffic behind me...

I bet the car in back of me thought I was nuts when I stuck my hand out the window and took a picture of them. Trust me, it doesn't take alot to keep me entertained!

Suggestions Please

If any of you have read my 100 things about me list or if you've been visiting this blog for very long, you've read that my husband and I are looking to make a move out of California, to start another chapter in our lives. We just don't know where or when it will take place...but we've decided it will be within the next year or two. Hubby retired in February, our kids are grown, and we have no more ties here. If ever there was a perfect time to make a change, this is it.

So I routinely scour the internet, looking for the perfect place. If I find a city that looks desirable, I look up the detailed profile of that city, especially looking at the weather conditions. Not too much snow...not too much rain.

My top priority is that it be on or near a lake or river. I'd love an Oregon or Washington lake or river view, like in the picture above. Oh to have a view of the Columbia River Gorge, to be on the Rogue River, or to live on Lake Stevens in WA...heaven to me! Hubby would love this too but would be just as happy with a Colorado Rockies view.

So dear blogging friends...what are your suggestions. Many of you currently live or have lived in fabulous places in Oregon, Washington, or Colorado in the past. We will be traveling to Washington in September. I can't wait for my husband to see Washington for himself. I love the Pacific Northwest and I'm hoping that he will too.

So please spill the beans. Give us the good, the bad, and the ugly. But I'm hoping it's all good!

(And if you read my post yesterday, my upper lip is still red and a bit tender...but it's smooth as a baby's butt!)

What Does the Future Hold?

Our recent trip to Colorado reaffirmed for me the fact that I am eager to move out of California. I'm a California girl born and raised but recently I have been wanting to experience life somewhere else, other than California, but there's only one problem...

Hubby and I don't have a clue as to where to move and alot of the times, we disagree!

This is what I do know (my wish list):

~ I would love to live in either Oregon, Washington, or Colorado
~ I want a view
~ Hopefully that view will be of a river or lake
~ There needs to be a Target relatively close by
~ And it will have to be a place that has mild winters (remember we're CA people...basically, we're wimps!)

You may remember we travelled to Oregon and Washington to look at a few businesses that were for sale. While we were there, I fell in love with the Columbia River Gorge. To be able to look at that view everyday would be heaven on earth for me! Hubby on the other hand says "it's too cold there!" He could easily live in Arizona!

Will we ever agree? Will we ever move out of California? At this point only God knows the answer to these questions! I did see a glimmer of hope during our trip to Colorado. He loved it there and so do I.

So my friends out there in blogland...any suggestions on where Lindanjake and family should move to in the next year or two? I'm open minded...but just remember, I'm a Target lovin' kinda girl! And if that Target has a view of the Columbia River Gorge...even better!
