Hubby and I don't have a clue as to where to move and alot of the times, we disagree!
This is what I do know (my wish list):
~ I would love to live in either Oregon, Washington, or Colorado
~ I want a view
~ Hopefully that view will be of a river or lake
~ There needs to be a Target relatively close by
~ And it will have to be a place that has mild winters (remember we're CA people...basically, we're wimps!)
You may remember we travelled to Oregon and Washington to look at a few businesses that were for sale. While we were there, I fell in love with the Columbia River Gorge. To be able to look at that view everyday would be heaven on earth for me! Hubby on the other hand says "it's too cold there!" He could easily live in Arizona!
Will we ever agree? Will we ever move out of California? At this point only God knows the answer to these questions! I did see a glimmer of hope during our trip to Colorado. He loved it there and so do I.
So my friends out there in blogland...any suggestions on where Lindanjake and family should move to in the next year or two? I'm open minded...but just remember, I'm a Target lovin' kinda girl! And if that Target has a view of the Columbia River Gorge...even better!

I hear ya sista!! I love Target!! I dont live too close to one though, the nearest one is 60 miles away.:( So when I get to go its a real treat!!
Hi Linda,
I get that urge to move every now and then too. We moved from PA to NC. I love it here ~ hubby prefers PA, oh well.
Colorado sounds great and I'm sure there will be a Target there too!
Hugs,
Donna
Hi Linda ~ Well, I'm afraid I'm probably no help since we live in MI, where the winters are definitely bitter! We had moved from MI to NC, then back to MI 3 years ago (hubby was missing family a lot - no family at all down south). Colorado does sound wonderful! I've never been there but my husband has played in softball tournaments in Steamboat Springs and said it's beautiful :)
I also have a HUGE urge to move. Kid is almost done with HS, so could go just about anywhere.
I agree with Donna, NC is beautiful and I don't think the winters are bad there.
I've never been to Oregon, but I hear the people are so friendly there and it is also beautiful!
I love Target as well.
What a major life choice to make. Colorado is a good step! Their winters pack a punch though.
How about Utah? (wink)
Pick the Gorge. Its by me. And we have 2 Targets. We are loving where we live here in WA. My husband would probably move to Colorado too. He loves that country.
I have no solid request for you. I feel that you will have a great life no matter where you planted your head. Your so nice. I just hope that where ever your journey takes you, that you will find contentment and happiness.
Happy hunting Linda. Bye. Jan
what wonderful places you are dreaming about!
Linda what is your mothers Blog addy?
Target. Yes.
Mild weather? You won't find it in OR, WA, or CO. Sorry.
But you won't go wrong in any of those states either. They are all beautiful. I'd pick WA. I lived there for 8 years and the views are gorgeous!
if i were to move anywhere in the us, i think i would like to live in knoxville, tennessee. i've always told my husband that:)
knoxville is in the foot hills of the great smoky mountains (i love to vacate to gatlinburg once or twice a year) and it's not far from the pah-handle of florida (i love to vacate to destin once or twice a year). it's also not far from family we have in the middle of the state of kentucky and georgia...
it's a gorgeous area!!!
love,
dani
ps i'm so happy to hear that you had such a good trip to visit your parents:)
I would love to move out of AZ too. I am also born & raised Native & am so tired of the heat & the desert. But my parents are my reason for staying...
I have never been to Oregon or Washington. But have been to CO & it is beautiful!
I also couldn't love somewhere where there isn't some type of shopping. I'd be bored to death in a small town... Gotta have a Target & Sonic!
What about Hawaii!!! We'd all come visit you! :)
I've never even SEEN a Target. Now you know why I want to move. LOL.
Linda, You are so funny. Well, I have lived in all three states. Colorado is warmer in summer, but colder in winter. Washington and Oregon are colder in winter, but paradise in summer (the Valley side). The Valley, though paradise in summer, is, quite damp in winter. Colorado, though paradise in winter (white gleaming snow and blue sky) it also includes brown grass in winter. It is hot and dry in summer, but still has its pretties. Oregon and Washington have green grass year 'round (Valley). If you could put up with the rain, you'd get paradise in summer in Oregon and Washington (Valley). I'd say you should stay in California, where it is paradise all year 'round, except the huge population and traffic, smog and all that goes with all the other people who want to enjoy that paradise. Have I helped you any? I thought not....hugs, Kathi
My vote goes for Colorado. It might be cold in the winter and a little warm in the summer but on the whole, it's very livable and beautiful. Of course I do have more than a casual interest in you moving here.
Still missing you,
Mom
OH, I have not seen a Target in 9 years! I can't wait.. My husband and I are having the same argument. The good news is it looks like I will win this one.
My in-laws live in CO. Lots of snow!
Hi Linda, Colorado or bust! That's where we're headed back to in a year anyway! Would be nice to meet ya. Colorado Springs is beautiful. But it does get cold in the winter.
sidenote: Some friends couldn't see the pics I had up on my last post. I've got it fixed, if you were one of them
God bless,
Brenda
Thank you for the sweet comments, Looking forward to our next visit! Hugs~ Diana Lyn
I just got the nicest postcard from you! Thx.
I so need that address list when you get back in town
Linda,
I of course vote for Oregon - having lived here for 27 years there is no where else I would rather live! (I've lived in California, Utah and Wisconsin) Yes - we tell people it rains here all the time just so everyone doesn't move here. We've got it all in Oregon - the beautiful mountains, the gorgeous gorge, the high desert and of course the amazing Oregon Coast where I am headed in a few hours.
It is 80 degrees today and gorgeous!!
LOL..I too have wanted to move to California...I haven't lived there since I was 5, but it's where my heart still lives...
I have lived in IL for over 30 years...Geez...I am really old...and I still cann't get used to the cold winters, and the wishy washy other seasons around here...so if you DO move to California...will you take me with you??
sending you good thoughts and wishes!
Cookie
Wherever you go, just take that infectious joy with you and it'll be home!
