Even though there was a sizable (5.4) earthquake today in Southern California, causing alot of buildings and nerves to rattle, I didn't feel a thing. Thankfully, from what I've heard, no one was hurt.
I'm born and raised in California and have lived through only a few earthquakes, but they can be very scary. I'm sure there are quite a few rattled nerves tonight.
We got back from our trip yesterday and my husband is ready to move to Colorado. Here is a link to the house we stayed in, it is for sale and very close to the river. http://www.vrbo.com/global/siteFrame.asp?mainurl=http%3a%2f%2fwww.circlepix.com%2ftour.htm%3fid%3d459398%26refurl%3d&returnurl=/55071
All the pretty places with water were pretty much in the moutains. There were some nice homes around Red Feather but it is up aways, your about an hour from Ft Collins, with the home we stayed in, your about 10 to 20 min from Ft Collins.
I was at work yesterday and saw the breaking news about the earthquake on my homepage and immediately thought of you. I'm so glad you are fine and didn't feel anything and no damage. They say we have earthquakes here in Oklahoma....one fairly recently but I've never heard or felt anything where I live. Have a blessed day! Love, Valerie
It looked like a very scary one Linda. I have been wondering about everyone that way. Thanks for the update. I hope there is total silence today for you down there.
I have been thinking about you non stop... I was going to call you to check on you, but don't have your #.. Thought it was on the list you sent.. Back in 1988 I was in CA & if I remember correct. It was when Nostradomis (?) spelling had said there would be the end of CA earthquake... Well I was there & there were 2 smaller ones. But boy did the 1st one scare me. I couldn't figure out why everything was shaking in the house.
It was pretty strong and long lasting where I live. But, I'm very blessed that I don't get scared when we have them. I'm born and raised here and so maybe that is why. Or maybe because my mom would always freak out that I had to stay calm in order to calm her down. I used to even have to leave work to go calm her down.
I'm sure if the buildings were falling around me I would be scared but other then that I take it as a free ride from Mother Nature.
It's good to know you are okay! Since we don't have earthquakes here, they seem really frightening to me. At least with a hurricane, you know it's coming!
I haven't felt a quake like that one in years. Usually it's like "Wow" and it's over. This one was "Okay, earthquake. We're still moving. We're still moving." and than before it ended we to discuss that last one that was that strong. It was just a little too long for me. I'm glad you're okay.
scary to me...that there is no warning just BAM there is an earthquake. we live very close to Memphis one of the biggest fault lines in the country and there is talk occasionally that one day there will be a big one here and that no one is ready for it.??
hi, linda:) i thought about you and some friends we have who live in soquel yesterday when i heard about the earthquake!!! i'm so happy you nor your nerves got rattled in the quake. we've had several quakes here this year, and it's the weirdest feeling of no control... take care:D love, dani
Hi, my name is Linda! After being away from the blogging world for a number of years, I thought I'd give it another try. I've missed the creative outlet I once enjoyed and I especially have missed the friendships that developed. I'm looking forward to this new (but familiar) adventure!
Since blogging last, my life has drastically changed! I've been blessed with a wonderful handsome husband, bonus children and grandchildren, and I became "Mimi" to one gorgeous little guy! I am blessed beyond measure! One thing hasn't changed tho and never will...I am a lover of Christ and daughter of the King!

I cant even imagine how scary it would be, from the looks on the peoples faces on the news it was pretty scary.
