It's Friday

And I'm nosy...

So here's the question: My theme song for today is "I'm leavin' on a jet plane...and I don't like flyin' the friendly skies!" I do not like having no control over a situation and when you are a passenger on an airplane YOU HAVE NO CONTROL...period...dot...the end.

Granted, I don't let my fear hold me back or limit me but let me just say I'm praying from the moment I get on the plane until I place my feet firmly back on the ground (I do take a break from my praying if there's a good movie in flight however!)

My sister LOVES flying and always wanted to be a flight attendant. I always thought she was crazy!

How does flying affect you? Do you enjoy flying the friendly skies or are you in non-stop prayer (non-stop...get it!)

You are so funny!
I use to love to fly. Weekend in California, Washington, Vegas lets go!
I must admit after 9/11 it took 'lene NEEDING NOW, in 2006, to get me on a plane. I was so afraid that I think that my seat had finger impressions when I arrived in AZ.
I have started flying off and on but really do not enjoy it anymore.

Believe it or not, I just flew for the first time last spring. I hate heights so wasn't sure how it would go, but I was alright. There was a little stress during one flight which was extremely turbulent though!

I dont get to fly very often, so for me its exciting and an adventure, but dont think I dont say a few prayers while I'm up in the air!!!

Well, my hubby (the airline pilot) always says he has a far greater chance of dying on the way to the airport, than in the actual plane. Does that make you feel any better? Probably not. Just be prepared, it is always bumpy when you fly into Phoenix. Always. Something with the air here.

Have a good trip!

i vowed as a young child to NEVER fly. the thought of it scared me to death!!! then, my parents decided to move from kentucky to new hampshire to open up a bed and breakfast... 23 hours away by car:/
katherine was 3 and there was no way we were going to make that drive. so we flew... and i hated it... for the reasons you mentioned.
the first 2 or 3 flight were not good, but i did it. since, i've gotten over my flying woes and now believe it's the only way to travel. that being said, flying as a career doesn't appeal to me at all!!!
love,
dani

OMG, I LOVE LOVE LOVE to fly. Something about the idea of going somewhere always excites me! I also have to be at the window so I can figure out exactly where I am!

Praying for a safe, smooth flight for you!

The last time I few was in something like 1992 or something, and it was only an hour and a half flight to El Paso...haven't flown, nor have any desire to fly, since then.

When they make bridges across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, I'll be fine...

I don't love it but accept it as a necessity if I am going to see all that I want to see. I especially do not like the take off but can generally relax after that. Have loads of fun and I look forward to all those pictures.

Hi Linda ~ I'm not much on flying either. I usually ask for a drink and then I'm fine!!!

I'm not big on flying, but I sure wouldn't mind it if that meant I was going on a vacation.
But I could never do it as a profession. I get sick.

I'm indifferent. I love going places, hate the security lines, love the view, hate airplane bathroonm, love , hate, I don't know.

I really don't mind flying at all. I dream of the day when flying doesn't mean changing diapers in a small tiny bathroom and looking for toys under everyone's seats and shoving crackers into little mouths - but this is a fun stage too!

i LOVE flying! but i do pray on take off and landing..."please let us get off the ground ok and have a safe flight"...then "please let us land ok and not spin out of control at the end of the runway"...then "thank you for a great flight!". those are my 3 standard prayers each time i fly! but i love flying, and being above the clouds...you know its ALWAYS sunny up there! even if its clound and rainy on the ground. theres something so peaceful about that! makes me smile just thinking about the sunshine up there!

To me, flying is just like riding in a car. No big deal either way. So much better than a long road trip.

Those girls will love their Halloween treat bags. You are a good Mom.

You just read my mail. I'm exactly the same way. Eyes closed praying on the way up and again on the way down, all while my daughter has her nose pressed to the window totally fascinated.
You know there's a scripture that supports our views. Jesus said, "And, lo(w), I will be with you always"! ;)
Have a great weekend.
Brenda :)

The power of the take off is exciting to me. I love how I am pressed back into my seat. I love going someplace new. Good luck. YOu are so cute. m

Non-stop prayers for me! I am up there in the sky feeling closer to God, which is a good thing, but I still like to hold onto the arm rests!:) My girls have no problems and I want to keep it that way, so I paste a smile on my face while sweating the whole time! My husband sleeps! Ugh! Lori

Hello my friend! I say a prayer at the beginning of the flight and then I leave it all in God's hands. That's just how it is! Hope you have a fabulous time!
Hey, I've started a new blog and hope you can stop in from time to time and say hey! Take care!

I used to love flying - but the older I get the more I realize how out of control I am. I love to travel - just not fly. But I'm like you - I'll do it if I have to.

Each time I fly I feel "uneasy" but I hate long trips in a car. I think you are correct in the fact that we're just not in control when we're flying.
