My husband and I were doing some running around this past weekend and I asked him if he'd make a quick stop by the goodwill...to my surprise, he said yes! It's only been in the last year that I've started thrifting and he's just now warming up to the idea, so needless to say, I was happy he agreed.
I walked through the store and didn't particularly find anything until I was heading out the door to leave. I glanced over and saw such a treasure, I couldn't believe it! I made a beeline and snapped up my find and hubby said "ya, I just watched them put that out there!" I was so lucky to grab it before anyone else did. Take a look at what I'm doing the happy dance over...
A little sanding and a few coats of paint and I'll have a beautifully detailed, sturdy shelf. I think it will make such a statement don't you!? Now I just have to find the perfect place to hang it!
One quick question...do you think I should keep it black or paint it another color?

What a lucky find. I love the shelf. I like it black but I suppose it depends where you are putting it-what else is nearby?

What a find! Will you be using the shelf indoors or outdoors? I'm asking because my first thought was of a beautiful flowering plant trailing down from that shelf. I think it looks great black.

Lovely lovely lovely. I like the black but then I am partial to black. I think you need to first work out the perfect spot and then see what color would best suit it. I noticed in the background you have some iron chairs, maybe see if you can match that color, if its going near there, but really I think it will be amazing any color.

I am kind of a fan of Black -but It depends on what the colors are of your house and where you'll be putting it. I'll come right over and we'll talk about it (tee,hee) That is a good find, and I love funky finds like that.

That shlef! WOW! I love the detailing. It appears to be in great condition! I love it black, but I think any color would be great. You could always add some bronze gel to highlight the relief. That'd be pretty. Oh, I cannot wait to see where you put it!
