Of all the things that were bought and/or changed during the remodel, the large wall in the family room became my mother-in-law's favorite. Sandy had such an eye for detail and the wall in the family room turned out gorgeous. Sandy took old family photos, placed them in beautiful, expensive frames, then hung them all over the wall. To make it even more of a showcase, she hung track lighting from the ceiling to spotlight the photos. It was stunning.
My mother-in-law called this wall her rose garden.
My mother-in-law Sally passed away eleven years ago, and soon after, the family home was sold. My in-laws always had a second home in Palm Springs and my father-in-law decided to make Palm Springs his permanent home. During the packing and moving, my FIL asked my husband if he wanted any of the pictures. He didn't have to ask him twice.
My husband brought home some of the photos years ago and I didn't hesitate to hang them in our home.
I have a rose garden.

This is a picture of an ice sculpture at my in-laws wedding. It has their picture inside the ice sculpture...
I also added in these pictures of my husband and I...
Do you have a rose garden?

That is beautiful! I love old pictures and I have a heritage album, but don't have them on the wall.
I DO! But mine is on my mantle rather than my wall!
Yours looks really lovely.
Hi Linda,
I am ashamed to say that I do not have one picture of anyone in my family on my walls. I have a huge collection of pictures that I have been meaning to frame and put up. You have inspired me to do so now. Thank you! Your rose garden is beautiful and those are the types of frames I would want to use. Just lovely! Hugs, Loretta
I don't have a rose garden such as yours. I've been back and forth with family pictures on the walls and such. I love them, I grow tired, I miss them.....etc. I wish I had more old pictures of our family, but mostly my family was very poor, neither of my parents ever had a portrait done as a child and only a few snapshots.
Thank you for sharing yours!
Linda, this is beauitiful! I love the wall! You have insired me to do the same. I have pictures all over the house, but not a special wall. Thank you for this special post. :)
I have two rose gardens, a more formal one that everyone sees and a casual one in a hallway that is less noticable. I wish I had more heritage pictures to put up. Yours are priceless.
