The first 2 days Howard walked with me but he stayed home yesterday and today. He's too busy out by the pool makin' friends. That's him in the yellow hat, chatting away with a man from Seattle. He spent the whole day by the pool and each time I'd meet up with him out there, he'd introduce me to someone new. Truly, he's never met a stranger.
Other than walking this morning, I've pretty much done nothing all day but stay at the hotel and relax. Just what vacation is all about right! I did manage to find the dialysis center located close by and went in to check it out. The clinic here has the capacity to dialyze 7 patients at a time. The nurse was floored when I told her our unit has close to 75 chairs, 2 gurney spots, and we run 3 shifts a day. It's no lie when I tell people I work at the largest dialysis unit in the United States. I was just checking out my options in case I want to move here someday!
If you've never been to Hawaii, you are missing out on some of the most magnificent sunsets imaginable. So, from me to you, enjoy the view!
Aloha!

A 4 mile walk... WOW!!
I have never wanted to go to Hawaii, but after the pictures you have been sharing...I might have to change my mind!
Wow! Too beautiful! Uhm, you're a nurse? You have a Howard? Wow, me too!
Glad you are enjoying your awesome vacation. Add a couple of miles to your walk for me will ya?
Glad you're having a good time and good for you for doing all that walking! Beautiful pictures!
Beautiful pictures Linda! So, I'm off to walk the dog now....no wonderful sunsets or amazing tropical flowers but the mountains are pretty and I'm with you in trying to make the walking a habit. Its not too cold today but tomorrow is supposed to drop down again and eww.
Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Way to go, Linda! Four+ miles is wonderful. I hear you when you say the beauty of your surroundings and good music make exercise... well, something other than exercise! An experience... In 2000, I ran the Big Sur Marathon. They have music every two miles. At mile 22, there was an acapella group that literally took my breath away (because I started crying... it was just sooooo beautiful). I had to yank my focus back to running so I could finish! My words really don't stand a chance of conveying that feeling. The ocean. The music. Enjoy for all of us.
PS that dialysis unit sounds like it would almost be vacation for you. =)
