I have a neighborhood friend whose mother is an interior decorator and owns a high end store here in our city. Needless to say, my friend has a beautifully decorated home with the help of mom. My friend would be the first to tell you she doesn't have the decorating know how so she just lets mom have free reign. Lucky girl (and smart) wouldn't you say!
About 10 years ago, she had twins and I volunteered to spend the day with her, helping her with the newborns (children #6 and #7 by the way!) As I headed down the hall to use the bathroom, I noticed all of the frames that mom had recently hung on the wall. Twelve frames in all, one for each month of the year, each one different. I immediately fell in love with the frames and have never forgotten what a gorgeous statement they made on the wall.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago. Whenever I go to the Goodwill, one of the sections I always go to first is the frame and picture section. This store has been doing some rearranging lately and are now displaying frames in bookcase type displays. Lo and behold, there on the shelf sat 3 of those frames that I had admired at my friend's house years ago. They had February, June, and September...
Not a complete set no, but still fun and I was thrilled! They were $1 each!
My son has his birthday in June, mine is in September, and then of course, Valentine's Day in February. I think I was lucky enough to find the perfect months!
Happy Thrifty Thursday!

Hi Linda! The frames you found are really cute. Isn't it exciting when we find something special at the thrift store?
I can't help but think by looking at those frames that there maybe a craft kit of some sort that you can make them yourself? It might be worth looking it up online.

Cute cute post. I love thrift stores.
Hi Linda,
I love when that happens!!! I think I need to visit my thrift store tomorrow!! I look for mirrors and LOTS of stuff :)
Did you decide on the light shade?
Looks like you could just swim outside your patio door!
Take care!
Warmly,
Deb :)
So awesome!
You really scored.
Those are cute, and you got them at a great price. Thanks for sharing.
The frames are SO cute, Linda and it's great that you got the months you needed. Is there anything on the frames that might give you an idea for a website? You might be able to pick up the rest...
xoxo

That makes me smile, Linda.
So glad you were able to find the frames and they are too cute! Lucky you! Our GW stores are not that great - they are actually pretty nasty! I need to venture to the better parts of town - sad, but true!
Sorry about your shelves and all your cute plates :-(
How fun!
Yea, I would say you found the perfect months!
I like your idea!
I've never seen that kind of frame before. Now you have another little something to keep your eyes peeled out for at the thrift stores. How fun!
How lucky you are to find the perfect months. Are you going to put pictures in them or leave them as is. I have noticed that a lot of designers are just hanging simple frames with no pictures in them.

That was a great find Linda. They are such cute frames for sure.
I don't have a good decorating sense on my own.....but I know what I like when I see it ---so I get my ideas from magazines, books, and home shows. That kind of thing.
Adorable little frames!
What cute little frames...see why you love them:)
Blessings,
Linda
I love the different frames for each month. Looking for those now
I love those frames. I have the four season frames from Exposures. They are hanging in my side entry. I haven't changed the pictures out in a while, but this just reminded me to go and do it. You find the best things!
