It's Friday

And I'm nosy...

So here's the question: What was the one thing you forgot to take with you the last time you went out of town?

As usual, I was being rushed out of the house on Wednesday morning so I forgot not only one thing, but three!

*I left behind my lipstick case (because my husband took it out of my car!)
*I left behind my casual shoes so I've been wearing heels since Wednesday!
*I left behind a coat...and I've been cold ever since!

We've been out of town attending the funeral services for our dear friend Carol. Everything turned out beautiful and her family did such a wonderful job honoring her life. She would be so proud of her husband, sons, and her beloved sister. As hard as it was, they held it together. Her husband Paul even gave the eulogy. There wasn't a dry eye in the church, especially mine!

I've been reading your posts about the tragic death of your friend Carol...we never know, do we? How brave of her husband to deliver the eulogy!!! Prayers for you and her family.

Carol's husband was courageous and loving to be able to do her eulogy. Blessing to their family.

Guess I didn't really so much "forget" things as pack wrong! I packed warm clothes; it was 85 degrees. Had to do a little shopping... wasn't all bad to pack the wrong clothes. ;)

I'm glad that it was a beautiful funeral Linda, it does help with the closure.

The last time I went out of town, I didn't forget anything. Amazing!
I'm impressed that Carols husband was able to speak. That would be a hard thing to do.

It's important to be able to attend the funeral of a friend. Glad it went well. Her husband is a strong man to be able to give the eulogy.
I can't think of something I've forgotten. Something I'm glad I had was a wash cloth and a grocery bag in my backpack during the 24 hour trip to NYC and back with my daughter and granddaughter! My gdaughter got sick in the back of the taxi and I used the wash cloth and grocery bag to help her get through it! I think we made the taxi driver nervous though!

Have a wonderful Friday. Hope you finally get warm!

I always forget a toothbrush. I use the Oral B at home so I always have to buy a toothbrush to go on trips. I usually forget and we have to go find a store whereever we are vacationing.

I am so glad you were able to go to your friends funeral and celebrate her life.
Her husband is courageous to not only keep it together but give the eulogy...so hard.

Bless Carol's husband for doing her eulogy, it must have been hard.

This last time that we traveled we also went to a funeral and surprising I did not forget a thing. I usually forget my razor and spray bottle.

How wonderful that Carol's husband gave the eulogy.

I am pretty good at remembering my things when I pack, but I have been known to forget diapers and bottles for the kidlets.

How wonderful for Carol's husband to be able to hold it together enough for the eulogy. That would be so hard.

Last time we traveled I forgot my facial moisturizer. Usually, I am pretty good with packing. When my mom and dad come to visit my mom ALWAYS forgets her "sound" or sleep machine so she has to always borrow one of ours. We all sleep to a "white noise" type sound so we don't hear every little, tiny noise....lol

I know that this was a tough week for you. I hope you can unwind and enjoy your weekend.

Once when my husband and I were going out of town, HE left my cosmetic bag on the bathroom counter. I even asked him if he had remembered it and he said he did. We were driving three hours and going straight to a big dinner event. I had no makeup on and had not done anything to my hair. I was going to do that in the car. EVERYTHING I needed was in that bag at home. I was fuming when we realized half way there that he did not bring it. When we got to the town we were going to I had to go to a CVS drugstore to buy make- up, hairbrush and hairspray and so on. I was not a happy camper.

Last year we went to Arizona. (I never go anywhere)
I left behind my "bag". The bag that held my book, ipod, camera and snacks. We were 8 hours away before I realized it.

Glad you could be with your friends family.
Hugs to you.

I don't go out of town that much, so I can't really think of anything.
Good to hear you're with your friend's family. What a very sad time.

Hugs,
Donna

To my surprise I didn't forget anything on my last trip. Last year we went to Disneyland and I forgot to take an extra pair of contacts. One of my contact lenses tore on the first day and I had to wear my glasses the entire trip. Now I always make sure I have an extra pair in my travel bag.
