So here's the question: What kind of roof do you have...tile, wood shingle, composite?
We "had" wood shingle but are in the process of getting a new tile roof right now. Yesterday was demolition day 1. It sounds like someone is going to come crashing through the ceiling any minute.
Our 20 year old roof needed replacing badly. The old shingles were such a fire hazard and if we were ever to cancel our homeowner's insurance, no company would pick us up again. We had discussed putting on a new roof for months but the recent house fire around the corner spurred things on. Their house, with the old wood shingles, went up in flames FAST!

We have a tile roof. I don't think a house built in the last 10 years in our area has anything but a tile roof.

We have plain old asphalt shingles, which is the norm here.

Though our house is only 4 years old, we have asphalt shingles. The makeover on the roof of your house looks so good!

We have asphalt shingles too. Our house is about 7 years old and we have only been in it a year so those shingles better last!!

We have asphalt shingles on our 39 year old house. We bought it 7 years ago and there are at least 2 layers of shingles on it!

We have the asphalt shingles. I'm sure we will be needing a new roof very soon.
We have a shingle roof, but they aren't wood shingles. They are asphalt, like Mari's. It's the norm here, too. :-)

Our roof is from the old mexican tiles....
though it really needs replaced. I told Kirk I think we should put a metal roof on it.

We have a composite roof to look like wood shingles. I grew up with wood shingles, so it's nice to have the look and not the fire hazard. You'll be thrilled to not have that worry anymore ;)
